3rd Week of Isolation : Kasumi's Regret

Day after day, the sun rises and sets. And it's been 2 weeks since the twin last saw their babysitter. That 2 weeks seems 2 years for them. For those 2 weeks, Kasumi never failed to check them, asking them how they are, if they want to go somewhere or do anything.

But, for 2 weeks...the twins never left their room, never set a foot out of their door nor opened it to answer their other babysitter's call. They remain sitting at the middle of their king size bed ; curled up to each other and hugging the teddy bears Ray bought for them. They won't eat, unless Kasumi fed them with soup and cereal that they can take; always serving them with light meals, they won't bother to clean themselves unless Kasumi will provide them a wet towel for their body, they brush their teeth in their bed, Kasumi holding a basil for them to spit, their eldest brother already bought a pee pot for them to use.

In other words...they got worse.

And this day is the first day of their third week of isolation. Kasumi makes sure to always see them every day, before and after he goes to their company. He already discussed the matter with his other brothers and all they needed to do was wait for the right time.

Kasumi found the babysitter once again preparing a dish that he knew the twin can't take. He can't help but lift an eyebrow about this. "What are you doing?" He asked.

The babysitter just looked at him. "My food?" She asked, stating what's obvious.

Why does he let this babysitter babysit for his youngest siblings? "Then, bring your food with you, get all your things and asked for your payment to your employer and never show your stupid face again" he said coldly. The babysitter just shrugged and did what she was told to.

Kasumi sighs, he doesn't know what to do anymore. Especially when his meeting with Ray Lee last week went downfall. He should control his emotions back then...

Kasumi entered the Serial Kitchen Restaurant. He was greeted by a waitress with a name tag of Jena. Jena, bring him inside the VIP room he reserved for the meeting with Ray Lee. After 10 minutes of waiting, he is already pissed off, upset by the minutes of waiting, when the one he is waiting for went in.

"Sorry — you're 10 minutes late, Miss Lee. Don't you know I have so much to do with my time?" He countered by not letting Ray explain herself. Then he continued "I don't know, if you really deserved my help" and that's all it took, triggering some sensitive nerve on her unknowingly.

"If you are just going to lecture me and fed me up about your precious time, I might just go. And to tell you, Mr. Furuichi. I'm late because of some elder woman who needed my help. If you want to see if I am talking the truth then go, and see the woman for yourself. And let me also remind you...you are the one who needed my help"

Well, that's half truth. Because, Ray knew they both needed each other; but they needed her more than she needed them.

Ray took a big breath and let herself calm down. She sat opposite to him and took a sip of her cup of tea that was served just a minute ago.

"Tell me. What have you done for Okasan to fire you?" He started.

Ray lifts a brow. "Nothing, I knew. But, then, she came from i-don't-care-where-the-hell-is and asked me some insane things. First, she asked me what the folder she gave me contained. Then I tell her the basic information and that's all. I didn't know it also contained some rules and regulations of that I didn't care of"

"So, what do you think that folder's purpose is? "

"Basic information that one should know. Such as their birthday, potential health risk as well as allergies and the things they want to do. If that folder contained you or your other brother, I didn't bother. So, what makes you think that I will ponder about some stupid rules and regulations, if the only rule of babysitting is for babysitter to prioritize their little ones on their own or other ways they knew?"

Ray wants them to understand her, the passion she devotes for the job.

Unfortunately, it does the opposite.

Ray's words didn't go well with Kasumi's ears and understanding. He felt intimidated by her unintentionally. For him, it seems like Ray was telling him it was his mother's fault for setting rules and regulations. As if their tradition is wrong and needs to be furnished.

"No. I won't let someone irrational like you go near my youngest siblings. Our family breathes with rules and regulations, it is circulating in each veins of our body. You don't have any rights to call them stupid. I don't need your help anyway, in fact, the twins are better without you!"

Ray didn't know what she did. She didn't do anything wrong, did she? But, hearing that the twins are better now...she can finally breathe in relief and continue living her already complicated life without thinking of the twins' well-being, little did she know.

"If that's the case. Then, I see no reason to see any of the Furuichi. All I wanted to know was if the two are okay, and based on what you just said. I can finally think straight and continue my life, again"

He should not say that. He should not lie about the twins' real situation. But he can't bring back the time and all he could do, right now, is to make sure that the twin will pass through this stage of their life.
