At King Faelan's request, I gave him a very brief summary of everything I suspected about Saligia.
Just a few sentences were enough for him to grasp the whole situation, to come to a final conclusion with me. And so it was. After my last word, he stretched slightly, took a deep breath, and closed his eyes.
Only a few minutes had passed when he said his next words.
"Yes, there are guards in the palace who are acting abnormally."
He opened his eyes again after that. The pale yellow of his eyes had been replaced by the golden yellow of before. But, this time, there was no pressure in the corridor, no one was having trouble breathing or standing.
Still, when he turned toward me, I couldn't help stretching slightly, straightening up.
"Well done and thank you. If you hadn't realized this... it might have been too late."
He glanced briefly behind me, in Adrian's direction. Then he sighed lightly.
