My New Life in the Kingdom of Wolves

About a week before the festival, and just a day or two after the meeting with Juliana, there was a frantic knocking on my door. I didn't know who it was or what they wanted, but I could tell that it had startled, Nithi and Nishi with its urgency.


"Nithi, will you be so kind as to see who the visitor is?" I asked but Hunter stepped forward instead.


"Please, Princess Addie, allow me to do that." He was looking at the hallway with narrowed eyes and I could tell that he was practically ready to do battle on my behalf. "I do not feel as if we should endanger your staff if that is not a friend at the door."


"Alright, Sir Hunter." I nodded at him. He was a guard after all, this was probably his default setting or something. I wasn't going to fight him on it. Not to mention, the knocking that was continuing incessantly, really was scaring Nithi.
