The entire time Violet and Ginger got me ready for the evening, Nolan sat in that chair, and watched me. He seemed to be smiling about something, which made me nervous.

"What is it?" I asked him, when Violet started to strip away my robe, so Ginger could help me into my dress.

"I'm just memorizing the shape of your body right now. It's going to change soon, and I want to commit every difference to memory. I intend to study and memorize the shape and feel of your growing belly. That's our baby in there, and as you said, I'm already a proud and devoted father. This is just exciting for me."
