Page 29: The Cheery Blossom Festival Date(2)

Just like Artist Lawrence's beautiful description..

Crowded streets with golden lanterns, colorful Hanbok, decorated stage, fluffy cherry blossom petals fluttering on the air and scent of romance at every corner...

..That was exactly how the Cherry blossom festival was at the xxxx city.

As soon as the four students arrived at the town square with their dates, even an outsider might say they were truly prepared for the event.

Amelia wore the beautiful bright pink colored Hanbok she bought with Sarah. She corded it with a cute flowery hair pin that resembled the cherry blossom and fit it on her bun. Amelia now looked like a blooming flower with her dress.

But, only God and her mother knew the struggles Amelia and her entire family went through to fit into that dress.

Vanessa on the other hand, didn't do much. She looked her usual just like the other days.

Only her usual isn't normal at all..!

She wore a tight full sleeved violet colored dress with sparky violet nets that had few tiny white stones loosely scattered all over her dress. Her dress also had a long cut on the side and they revealed the high heeled black shoes that she matched with her large black european hat. It was this.luxurious hat that covered her entire head and hid the black curls of her hair bun. 

While every other girl focused herself for looking more petite and traditional to their loved one, Vanessa wore something totally out of the box

And, Derrick was simply shocked by the sight.

"You actually wore a british styled dress for the cherry blossom festival..??! This is Seoul, Vanessa.. Not Europe!"

Derrick massaged his head after looking at Vanessa's ridiculous outfit.

"Whatever. Does it really matter as long as I wear something..? Do I look naked to you, 'Opha'? Then why do you care..?"

Vanessa said looking at her colored black nails lazily. Derrick was once again rendered speechless by Vanessa's ridiculous logic.

"Besides, It doesn't matter as long as my date, doesn't mind it.." She said placing her arm around Alex's and clung to it. "Do you mind if I wore a dress or a Hanbok, Alexie..?" Vanessa fluttered her big fake eyelashes.

"I don't really care what girls wear.." Alex said nonchalantly.

"Told ya..!" Vanessa clung more to Alex with a bear hug and stuck her tongue to Derrick. "I know, Alexie does not judge people according to clothes like you, you fu*... I-I mean, silly loser..! Haha.."

She almost cursed. Vanessa's almost cussing didn't go unnoticed by Derrick Han.

It hasn't even been ten minutes since they had come here and Alex's arms were already starting to ache due to Vanessa's constant clinging.

On the side he noticed the usually rugged and tomboyish Amelia at her cutest outfit and commented rubbing his neck shyly.

"But, if I was really given a choice.. I like girls with pink traditional wears and high buns. It's cute they make an effort to dress well for the special day even if it might seem quite hard for them.." Alex added.

Vanessa always treated each word from Alex like a sacred commandment of God. So she understood the underlying meaning his words immediately, unlike the other dense couple.

Girls with high buns, pink traditional hanbok.. that are difficult to wear on normal occasions..?

That is Amelia Jeong, alright..?!

There is no doubt about it.

"Arrrgh!! I am gonna kill you now..! Amelia Jeong..?! Just why must you join us today on this special day..!!?!"

Vanessa roared like a lion and immediately tried tearing Amelia to pieces. She might have actually succeeded if not for Derrick who hugged Vanessa by her waist to stop her pounces.

"Vanessa.. Calm down..! You are not on a Zoo.."

Derrick smiled forcefully during the current drama.

"Let go of me..! This is all your fault since you are the one who invited her. Let go of me immediately before I report you for harrassing me Derrick Han..!"

Amelia immediately hid behind Alex and clenched his shirt.

"How is any of this my fault Vanessa..? I didn't even speak a word..!"

Amelia protested.

"Exactly..! But, you still manage to steal what's mine..! You are too cunning, Amelia Jeong!"

Vanessa roared again.

Derrick felt like he wanted to hit on the tree when he looked at this ruddy country style bi*ch fight.

It hasn't even been that long since they got here.. But, this is all such a mess.

Perhaps was this what Sam was telling him since the beginning? Derrick was slowly trying to understand him.

Vanessa only calmed down after realising that a strange crowd actually started gathering around them as they misunderstood these four students as stage performers of some comedy drama.

It was a embarassment for all of them. But, they had to pretend such a thing never happened to forget the humiliation of the previous events.

Derrick then looked at his date and then asked.

"So.. What are we waiting for here? Shouldn't we just enjoy the Cherry Blossom festival's special fair by now..?"

"No. Sarah's performing tonight. She personally invited Alex and I to watch her performance. Besides, her dance would give us a pleasant mood to give us a fresh start for the date. So, lets wait for a while, Sunbae.." Amelia replied Derrick.

Soon, the lights around the semi circled stage suddenly turned off. A soft glow lit on the center of the stage and in a few second twelve beautiful girls with the dresses in the color of the spring season.

The concept of the dance was the colors of the season. And, when it was finally the time for the School Belle, Sarah to enter the stage the entire crowded roared with cheers.

Sarah was truly the most prettiest girl of the entire bunch. That was the reason she was given a center role for the Welcoming the Spring Dance as the main grand flower, The Rose of Sharon.

After few minutes when the curtains closed again, Sarah jumped into the arms of her best friend who poured her with multitude praises.

Sarah then wished the four good luck for their date and wished for them to have a great time.

Amelia was still worried about leaving Sarah alone on such a special day.

"Sarah.. Are you sure you do not want to tag along with us..?"

Amelia asked her again.

But, Sarah truly was in no way worried like Amelia. As a matter of fact she had already planned what to do next before weeks of this special day.

"Tagging along with you guys and disturbing you on your double date with.. Alexander Min!"

Sarah squeaked.

"The date's with Derrick." Amelia commented.

"Whatever. No freaking way! I do not want to disturb you guys..! Bye bye..!"

Sarah waved her palm blissfully as the four disappeared into the crowd.

Unlike the other dancers Sarah was the only one who hadn't removed her pretty make up. She did change the clothes she had just danced in to a shiny blue hanbok too. And, Sarah had a special reason for all this.

SOMEONE_SOMEWHERE: Lawrence, I am in a big trouble. Someone kidnapped me..! Will you call the police and please save me!!"

USERNAME021: What..??!?!? Noona! Do you know where are you right now..!!?!"

SOMEONE_SOMEWHERE: Yes. By the stage..! Hurry, Lawrence!

Sarah grinned her brightest as she typed.

Hehehe.

He fell for it just as I expected. I know it wouldn't take long for him to come out from his hiding place.

Just like Sarah anticipated, Lawrence arrived beside the stage with buckets of sweat and series if huffs and puffs.

"Sarah noona...!!!"

"Here. Here. I am here!" Sarah waved her arm with a bright smile and called Lawrence.

Lawrence looked at her all safe and sound and then sighed a deep sigh of relief.

The next thing was he was clearly pissed off.

Lawrence was not dense nor an idiot, he immediately figured out why he was called and understood how Sarah successfully managed to bring him out of his hiding place.

He approached Sarah angrily and caught her two shoulder.

"Do. Not. Play. Games. With. Me. Like this noona! Have you ever heard of the story the boy who cried wolf..?" Lawrence shook her shoulders desperately.

"Ah. You didn't stammer this time.. Are you finally starting to warm up to me just like how you are to Olivia..?"

Sarah asked cheerfully.

Lawrence placed his palm on his head and then looked at Sarah in her blue Hanbok.

With her smile that looked just as pretty as her dress with the light color of a bright summer sky, Sarah looked like an angel descended from heaven to Lawrence. Due to the dance, her make up was definately done professionally with a light rose color that resembled the roses on her Hanbok. Sarah also wore a beautiful long rodded hair pin like Amelia. But, while Amelia's resembled the cherry blossom petals, Sarah's were made of diamond like glass stones and the sparkled now by the background lights.

"What..? Did you just think I must be looking at the most breath taking and beautiful girl in the world on this outfit..?"

Sarah noticed Lawrence gazing at her with a naughty smirk.

Lawrence smiled in response and said.

"No. You are t-the most breath taking and b-beautiful girl to me, no m-matter what you wear..n-noona"

Sarah's cheeks turned beet red that she immediately turned her head aside. She was upset Lawrence didn't notice how cringey he was being, though she doesn't really mind it.

Ugh. I wish he is more aware of his own unintentional flirts.

Sarah could only cry clenching her skirt.

"Alright.. N-Noona. I-I must probably be going. I have m-more p-paintings to finish for the festival. And, ...me s-staying with you might ruin your p-possibility of getting a good date. Good bye, n-noona..

Lawrence spurted quickly and rushed the other side in haste.

".. You don't have to worry about my possibility of getting a date. Just follow me, I've just seen an interesting ride you might like at the Special Fair..?"

Sarah had to grab Lawrence and hug his arm around hers in order to not let him escape again.

"B-But!! What if people misunderstand..?! What if your crush misunderstands..!?! Don't waste y-your time by trying to s-spend this special day with m-m-me, noona.."

Sarah's face wrinkled. Her short self that currently hugged Lawrence's arm was slightly mad at him.

You are my crush!

And, I want other people to misunderstand us, you idiot!

She was dying to say! But, since she couldn't..

Sarah pouted and abruptly snatched Lawrence's black mask and glasses from his face.

"Waaah.. Wah!!! N-N-Noona!!"

Lawrence screamed in horror as though she was actually stripping him naked.

"Punishment time! You are right. People might spot us if they see you with your signature geek mask and nerdy glasses. But, if you don't, they would just think I am hanging out with a really hottt and dreeeam-.. cough.. I mean, a normal looking guy during the festival. No one might identify you."

Sarah had an inner panic monologue. She almost revealed her crazy secret indecent fan girl side to Lawrence.

Lawrence simply blinked at her.

Sarah coughed and clung Lawrence's arm again.

"Cough.. Anyway.. The night will not wait for us forever.. Come on. Let's charge!!"

Sarah said doing a victory march and pushed forward Lawrence.

"W-Wait..!! N-Noona.. I a-am not sure y-you can do this.. "

"But, I am!"

"B-But, n-n-noona..!"

"Oh..! Is that the haunted house..? We must try that Lawrence!"

"The h-haunted house!?! B-But, I am scared of g-going to haunted h-houses.."

"Oh, that will be cute to look! Don't worry. I'll be your knight."

"....."

Lawrence had no say to this.

"N-Noona..."

He wailed again while following her lead.

In such a way Sarah forced Lawrence as her Cherry Blossom festival date on contrary to all the promises Lawrence assure to Olivia.

See.. There was truly was a reason Olivia was worried about him.

After Derrick finished paying the tickets for the couples it was finally the time for Alexander, Vanessa, Amelia and Derrick to enter the most anticipated festival fair with joy and excitement.

The screams echoed from the giant roller coaster that seemed to touch the skies. Laughter rung on cute horse headed merri-go-round that danced with colorful lights. There were tons of little shops that were especially open for the festival. Countless food stalls and the site of the blue cold river with low priced boat rides were also available for the season.

"Wow..!!! This place is amazing..! I am glad you asked me out here.. Derrick..!" Amelia squealed with joy.

Derrick smiled and answered.

"Of course. I am pleased to join you guys too. You must thank Vanessa Choi for it! Isn't that right Vanessa..?"

Derrick tried to put a good word for Vanessa.

But she ignored him as she found all her excitement in looking at her intended date than this entire fair. She was still clinging on the arm of the uninterested Alex by the way.

Feeling quite bad that his talk was ignored just like that. Derrick then asked.

"What ride do you wanna go to.. Vanessa..?"

There were quite interesting things that Vanessa liked at the park. But, she abruptly looked Alex for her decision.

Alex was gazing at the rollercoaster rides that were riding over their heads with screaming passengers.

Suddenly he had a fantasy.

How long had he wanted to ride a coaster with Amelia by his side. Now, technically he is on a date with Amelia.. But, too bad she isn't on a private date with him..?

Alex couldn't even comment whether his luck was good or bad!

"Let us go to the rides..!" Vanessa suddenly declared aloud following Alex's gaze. Derrick sighed. He finally got a response from her.

"That's a good idea too."

Amelia said and then looked at Alex who looked like he didn't know how to respond. She giggled.

"Don't tell me you are scared of heights.. Do you want me to hold your hands and pat your back, scaredy cat?" Amelia teased him.

Alex blushed abruptly just at the scenario.

"N-No way! Shut up! Why would I ever catch your hand! That's disgusting. Come on, Vanessa. Let's go."

Alex dragged Vanessa forward and sat on the nearest seat of the ride.

Vanessa clearly knew Alex was just avoiding Amelia to not make her see his red Tsundere face. But, she was happy anyway.

It is bad enough that Amelia Jeong is here. But, if she produces this kind of expression from him every single time that makes them get more closer to each other. She could bear just a little about Amelia. Was what Vanessa thought.

Derrick blinked at Alex's unexpected behaviour.

Alex clearly said he hates Vanessa to the max right..? Then why is he treating her as an good old friend..?

"I didn't know they were actually this close to each other.." Derrick couldn't help but comment to Amelia.

Amelia folded her arms and followed Alex and Vanessa.

"Well.. They are childhood friends who had known each other forever. What else do you say..?"

Amelia shrugged her shoulders.

At the same time something unknown and weird caused a bitter feeling on Amelia's chest. But, of course, Amelia tossed the feeling aside as Derrick continued chatting with her blissfully.
