The real apocalypse

The fog was thick, but not that thick, the reason behind this fog is currently unknown, Cole didn't like the idea of venturing outside during the night, but the faster they reach their apartment and settle, the better their situation would be.

ROARRR!!!

A roar was heard from far ahead, Cole decided to rush his pace and asked Jack to remain silent, that monster didn't seem to be a normal zombie like the others, it was more like a stronger version.

According to Cole's analysis it must be a mutated according to his experience reading apocalypse stuff. The monster was to their left, so they decided to take a long path, which is the ramen shop street Cole and Jack usually take.

They walked with careful steps that barely made sounds, the zombies increased alot, unlike the previous day, they are ramping in the streets, not tightly packed, but every street contains a zombie, and it's hard not to produce sounds, as well as their ability to detect heat, not all zombies have this ability, some have it, the reason behind this must be a mutation

As Cole and Jack walked ahead, they encountered a zombie with crooked teeth, Jack wanted to laugh, but Cole shutter his mouth before he could alert that zombie, they decided to ambush it from behind and kill it in one blow.

Because when killing zombie a small amount of mist essence enters the body, this amount is equivalent to training for a week, since the mist essence hasn't been injected, and 1 mist essence is equivalent to 1 month of Intense training. Cole and Jack didn't inject their mist essence yet, since they didn't know how to yet. They probably will figure it out in the future.

Cole and Jack felt energised after killing multiple zombies on their way, the change was pretty evident, and for the second day, the progress was good compared to other people.

"You will attack it from behind, and I will act as decoy." Cole said in a decisive way, they tried different tactics, and ambushing is affective, but not that much.

"Don't you want to take the hit this time?" Jack said with concern, since killing it means becoming stronger, "Nah you take it, the next zombie will be my target, gonna hit it alot." Cole said it with frustration, he was gonna use the zombie as a sandbag.

Cole went ahead and stood right Infront of the zombie, because of the fog, the zombies can't detect humans. "HEYYYYY." Cole shouted to grab the zombies attention.

The zombie went ahead running in an unpredictable speed. It manages to grab Cole's wooden pole, but that was what Cole planned from the beginning, to make it stuck.

Jack went ahead and raised his axe high in the sky, and slashed it down with great force, the support from the weight and the strength Jack exerted made it vunerable, it died instantly like a piece of biscuit easily snapped.

"We did it!" Jack shouted, Cole was happy too, since their progress was fast and smooth, with no hindrance. "Yes we did it Jack." Cole said with a cute pose. "Ewww bro stop that." Jack replied with disgust. They both laughed.

"Since we took this path, we should just go left and walk ahead for about 200 meters, after that we go to the right all the way ahead, and go left again." Cole explained their plan, that they will follow to reach to their apartment.

The reason why the last path didn't have a turn was because, it was full of apartments. Families, tenants, ordinary people. They all lived there, since it was a quite famous area.

Cole was pretty focused on his plan, that he didn't notice Jack's expression, it was like he won the lottery. Cole looked at Jack weirdly, he was opening his mouth like a crazy staring at empty space.

"What are you doing Jack?" Cole said as he kept on looking, trying to figure out what's going on.

"I got a lottery thing, I am not sure what this is." Jack replied while trying to understand, it looked like a wheel thing, but with many choices that the gaps look so small, he even saw pumpkin underwear as an option.

"Really!" Cole said with excitement, since the lottery seemed fun, he wanted Jack to get something funny. "I will try spinning it" Jack said as he pressed the use reward button.

The wheel started spinning, and Jack was excitingly looking at it, he was wondering what he would get.

Reward chosen: Lesser cultivation manual (trash)

Jack had a disappointes expression, but unlike what he thinks, getting a cultivation manual is a huge advantage, since instead of forcefully injecting the mist essence, this cultivation manual will use it to its 98% potential at first, and when trained further, there will be surprises.

Jack currently has 4 mist essence, whole Cole has 3. Unlike other people who are hiding from these ugly monsters, Cole is excited to beat the shit of one of them.

They took the first detour and turned to the right, but what shocked them, was that it was full of zombies, not just 5-7, it was like about 15+ zombies, no one would be crazy enough to go there.

They decided to find another path, but it was too late. One monster spotted them, OWAHHHH..

"RUN, RUN, RUN." Jack shouted, it seems Jack is obsessed with running, "HELP MEEEE!!!!." Cole shouted while freaking out, what could help those helpless young men.

Before they noticed they ran so fast and they were so near their apartment, but what they were worried about was the monsters behind them, Did the monsters stop following them, or did they managed to cut them off?

The answer to their questions were obvious, no monster managed to catch them, the zombies weren't that fast, but maybe they will be in the future, that's why they should prepare for the future.

"Are we there yet." Jack whined as he was about to cry, Cole wanted to cry too, but he couldn't in his current situation, they literally just met an avalanche of zombies.

"We are there Jack, yes we are." Cole said with a happy smile, as if someone who met his long-distance girlfriend after being apart for a while.

Cole and Jack finally managed to reach their apartment, their beloved apartment, home sweet home!

"Let's jump to our beds." Cole face had a smile so wide that his cheeks started to get sore.

They entered their apartment building, but as espected the there was only one zombie, and since it was just the start, there were some people inside their apartments.

This time Cole took the lead, he went and striked the zombie to its neck, and knocked out some of its teeths, the zombie went and tripped on the stares, this scene is slightly uncomforting. Cole went and hit the zombie on its head until the head was burst open.

Jack just couldn't get used to this scene. Unlike their first time where they vomitted, they could slightly used to it.

Cole and Jack are now finally infront of their apartments door, Jack had the keys, and there are spare keys, ofcourse one of them is lost, because Cole's keys were in the car, and the car keys fell into the sewer. There's another spare key, for the landlord, and their friend.

Their friend will remain mysterious for now.

"Open it, hurry!" Cole begged Jack to hurry. "Can't you wait." Jack also wanted to sleep fast, the door just won't open. Tick!

The door opened, now they can sleep, after their long and hard journey, and the hurdles they had to pass, mentally and physically.

"Goodnight dude." Cole said while he changed to new clothes. "Goodnight." Jack replied instinctly, he didn't bother Changing, because he wanted to sleep in a hurry.

Let's go for another day!
