He is intrigued by the she-wolf who chooses to live among vampires and decides to keep his natural enemy close to his side. But the more Esme tries to hide her true self, the more Gabriel is drawn to her.

For someone accustomed to being alone and not leaning on anyone for help, will Esme open up to the one person who can see through her attitude for what it really is.. a painful past covered in scars?

"Come out. You know why I'm here," Gabriel growled, his eyes searching the empty room.

There was no response, but Gabriel could tell Einar was there. His powerful presence revealed that he was. But the warlock was never so foolish to leave clues behind leading to his destination. Gabriel had once spent fifty years trying to find Einar. He was meticulous and never left any traces of himself to those who wanted to find him when he did not wish to be found.

"You wanted me to find you," Gabriel murmured his thoughts aloud and started walking into another room that turned out to be a grandiose bedroom. He glanced at the black cat sitting on the large bed and then walked towards the window overlooking the sea.

"Why would I do that?" Einar's voice came from behind him.
