Fallen Flowers 2

 Xiao You Ren was too lost in his thoughts.  Didn't realize that the clock had moved towards seven, but the girl hadn't come yet.  When Xiao You Ren came to his senses and started looking for his cell phone, the apartment bell rang.  Made him gasp a little.  Xiao You Ren immediately stood up and approached the door, to greet the person who pressed the bell button.

 "Ren Ren!"  Zhao Yuzi shrieked with joy.  She brought her body to hug Xiao You Ren who just opened the door.  "I missed you," she said in a spoiled tone.

 A small smile was etched on Xiao You Ren's face.  "Don't be like this, Yuzi.  What if someone misunderstood?"  Xiao You Ren led the girl into his apartment and told her to sit by the heating table.

  Zhao Yuzi complied.  Before sitting down she handed her a paper bag filled with food.  "I only bought two servings of dumplings," Zhao Yuzi explained with a smile.

 Xiao You Ren's face twisted slightly, recalling the incident when he went to the dumpling shop with Zheng Liam.  The girl noticed it and immediately looked for another topic, she immediately jumped at a cat walking towards them.  "Hey, you keep a fat cat.  Why didn't you tell me?  I can come often to see it."

  Zhao Yuzi grabbed the hairy body and carried it towards the heating table.  Xiao You Ren watched her with an amused smile, seeing that Zhao Yuzi liked Lie so much and they both looked the same.  Full cheeks.

 Lie kept meowing spoiled while playing with Zhao Yuzi, they sat by the heating table with Lie on the girl's lap.  Meanwhile, Xiao You Ren himself took several bottles of mineral water and placed them on the table.  "Sorry, I used to use bottled mineral water for drinking.  There are a few glasses, but I think it's dusty," Xiao You Ren said with a chuckle.

 While living alone he did not have many household appliances.  It was useless to him, because no one would eat in the apartment.  Xiao You Ren eats out more often.  Even though he was alone, at least he saw a lot of people around him and ate together.

 Zhao Yuzi just nodded with a look in Xiao You Ren's eyes.  The man was not wearing glasses, as was his custom in the office.  It felt very different and clearly showed the shape of his face.

 "You Ren, you really are skinny.  You don't take good care of yourself."

 "Is that true?"  Xiao You Ren asked jokingly.  He returned to the kitchen to serve the two bowls of dumplings.  However his memories still flashed back to his time with Zheng Liam, but Xiao You Ren was trying his best not to get carried away with those memories.  Zheng Liam clearly didn't like him, even thought he was disgusting.

 Two bowls were already on their table along with chopsticks and a spoon.  They enjoyed it quietly, interspersed with small talk about various things.  Mostly Zhao Yuzi talked about her strange preferences, but Xiao You Ren listened carefully and occasionally gave feedback.

 Then the topic of conversation turned to corporate issues.  Xiao You Ren questioned the state of the company during his absence from work.  Zhao Yuzi was too excited to tell the story with the words that flowed from her mouth so quickly.

 "The old man took my comic again, You Ren," the girl whispered very sadly.  Even though her face didn't look so pathetic.

 "Old Man?"  Xiao You Ren frowned and started to remember who the old man was.  As far as he remembers no employee had such a call.

 "Phi John, who else likes to take my reading?  Only an old-fashioned person like him can do it," even when her mouth was full of food, the girl could chatter and express her annoyance.  It seems that Xiao You Ren must be amazed by the ability of this one woman.  He just nodded.

 "By the way," Zhao Yuzi took a sip of the gravy from her dumpling bowl, then placed the empty bowl on the table, "you know the reason Sir Liam resigned?"

 Xiao You Ren's eyes widened perfectly, his gaze shot straight at Zhao Yuzi's bead.  "Liam Ge resigned?  Since when?" 

  His tone was clearly surprised.  Various questions as well as answers wandered around in his head.  There was little hope for Xiao You Ren to hear Zhao Yuzi say 'I'm joking', unfortunately those words never left the girl's red lips.

 "You do not know?  I think he told you, You Ren, considering the closeness of your relationship."  Now it was Zhao Yuzi who was wide-eyed.  Even though she knew about the rejection incident, she thought that their relationship had improved.  Recalling when Xiao You Ren was sick, it was Zheng Liam who looked the most worried and he was also the one who drove his home.  In those few days she often saw Zheng Liam's car parked in front of Xiao You Ren's apartment building.  Zhao Yuzi knew that, because her residence was also in a location not far apart.

 Xiao You Ren shook his head languidly.  So their relationship wouldn't be able to improve, at least as a co-worker like before.  Is he really that disgusting?  It was to the point that Zheng Liam chose to leave and even more painfully, he didn't tell Xiao You Ren anything.

 "You Ren, are you okay?"  Zhao Yuzi waved her hand in front of the man's dreamy face.  The gloom clearly covered the outer skin of Xiao You Ren's face.

 "I'm okay," Xiao You Ren replied as he continued to eat and finished quickly.  He grabbed his mineral water bottle with slightly shaking hands, then drank the water.

 His mind was filled with bad things.  "Yuzi," Xiao You Ren whispered, putting the mineral bottle back down.  "Do you think I was the cause?"

 The girl was silent for a moment, digesting her friend's question.  She stared intently at Xiao You Ren's pale face, probing every expression that conveyed feelings.

 Zhao Yuzi could clearly tell that Xiao You Ren was really overthinking things.  It was natural, but Zhao Yuzi had more or less fear for some things she couldn't express.  She was afraid that Xiao You Ren would be desperate, so only words of encouragement could be given.

 "You Ren, listen…" Her voice softened and felt softer.  "Never beat yourself up for something you never really know.  Maybe he has other reasons, such as his parents being sick, having to take care of his family business, and so on."

 "But… I have caused his annoyance.  I… my love-"

 "You Ren."  Zhao Yuzi cut off Xiao You Ren's words.  She reached out hand for holding Xiao You Ren's hand which was on the table.  The man bowed his head, Zhao Yuzi knew that Xiao You Ren had a good heart and it sparked a lingering guilt.  "If he rejects you, it's not your fault.  You don't have to bear the guilt.  It was his decision, he decided not to be in a relationship with you."

 Xiao You Ren raised his face and looked at the girl in front of him.  Little by little his heart began to feel calm.  At least having a friend is much better than being alone.

 "After all if you don't have a partner, it's easier for me to approach you."  Zhao Yuzi's eye flickered seductively.  Xiao You Ren shook his head and smiled faintly.

 "I'm sure, You Ren.  Many people want to be with you.  Don't mind that idiot, we'd better have some fun.  I will help you find a lover, tell me what is your ideal type?  The handsome one, the tall one, the tie or the pretty one, the big melon?"

  Zhao Yuzi's long chatter caused Xiao You Ren to suddenly have another fever.  And when he heard his last sentence, Xiao You Ren couldn't help but be surprised.  His face turned red and his eyes glared at Zhao Yuzi who was laughing out loud at his reaction.

 "Yuzi, that's not funny.  I'm a man after all and still a little straight."

 Zhao Yuzi couldn't control her laughter anymore.  A straight man has just been saddened by the departure of another man.  After a while, Zhao Yuzi began to feel calm and gradually stopped her laughter.  Looking at Xiao You Ren's ordinary face and said, "I'm ready to be your husband in case you don't sell, as long as you're really straight."

 It wasn't until ten o'clock at night that their conversation ended and Zhao Yuzi decided to go home.  Xiao You Ren planned to drop the girl off until she got his online taxi back home.

 However, Zhao Yuzi vehemently refused and said that Xiao You Ren's health had not fully recovered.  Inevitably Xiao You Ren just escorted her to the front of her apartment room and watched the girl from where she was standing.

 When Xiao You Ren was about to enter his room again, a small box was seen sitting on the side of the door.  He picked it up and examined the exterior, afraid that it had been sent the wrong way.  However, his name was written on the top side of the box.  He walked into his apartment, box in hand.

 Xiao You Ren wondered who and what purpose the box was sent to.  When he opened it, there was a piece of paper tucked between the slits of the cute bunny head brooch.  The article is very short and not long.  One sentence composed of two words and managed to make him tense and sad.

 "Goodbye."

 He began to think about who was the more cowardly of them.
