NATHANIEL'S POV

'I really can't believe this'

It's a big deal for Dawn to reunite with her mum, after like 12 years

I can't imagine me separated from my parents for that long, no contact, nothing at all

'I'd feel miserable, really'

Dawn introduced me to her mum, although I was shocked that she actually did, like introduce me to her mum as her boyfriend and her mum was like,... I don't know... shocked?

But anyway, her mum got over her shock and hugged me

'Oookayyy'

So they talked and talked and talked, the three of them, Dawn, her mum, and her aunt, obviously relishing the time they missed together, with her mum asking me questions in between

'I'm not a fan of emotional movies, but the scene I'm looking at right now is bringing tears to my eyes, literally'

"It is time you went home now, Dawn", Dawn's aunt said, probably realizing that both Dawn and her mum needed rest, but Dawn wasn't having any of it

"No, I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay with her, you can go home with Chris", she rushed out her words, obviously afraid to leave her mum after so long

Her mum held her two hands tightly as if telling her that she was going to be okay.

After some minutes of silence, Dawn finally nodded, "but I'll come very early tomor... oh it's already today", she said looking at her watch, "anyway, I'll come early to see you, mum"

Her mum nodded and kissed her on her forehead. She kissed her mum back, "I love you mum"

She stood up and did the same to her aunt, "aunt Laura, thank you so much. I don't know how I could have lived without you with me, I love you too"

Her aunt hugged her back, "then I love you three", she said, making them laugh, before I and Dawn came out of the house

"So how d-", I was tackled by her kiss before I could finish what I was saying. I closed my eyes and let her lead the kiss at the pace she wanted it. She was slowly savoring it, like she didn't want to rush it

We only parted when we were out of air. I rested our foreheads on each other, as we dragged our breaths.

'I could go out of breath if it means getting kissed every minute'

She opened her beautiful brown eyes to look at me, "thank you", she said in a ragged voice

"For what?"

She smiled, "well, I could call you my blessing in disguise, or my guardian angel. Anyway, it seems you bring light to my darkened world, so you deserve a thank you"

I smiled back at her, "so it means I deserve more than a kiss, right?", I said, giving her a flirtatious look

"I-i t-take it back", she stuttered, before marching away with heated cheeks

When we reached home, I gently carried her since it was quiet, and I didn't want to wake her up.

I was about entering the house when another car drove in. I squinted my eyes to have a clearer look at the driver, it was Peter

'Where could he be coming from,  at this time?"

Dawn stirred in my arms, making me glare at Peter for waking her up

He got down, looking extremely surprised to see us there, so he walked up to us, "w-where a-are y-you coming f-from?", he stuttered, acting so guilty

"I should be the one asking you that question", I said, as Dawn tapped me to put her down

He looked at Dawn, then back at me, "you shouldn't take her out late in the night. Don't you know it's dangerous these days?", he shouted, trying to shift the attention away from him

"Peter", Dawn called him with a calm voice. A voice I well know meaning a storm brewing, "can you drive me to the company tomorrow, please?"

"What?!", I couldn't help but exclaim loudly

"Really?", he asked her, excitement laced in his voice

She nodded and patted him on the shoulder, "thanks"

She went inside, so I followed totally confused at her change of behavior

"Dawn, what is wrong with you?", I asked angrily immediately we entered her room.

She looked at me and dropped her bag on the bed, looking at me like I said something that didn't make sense

"There is absolutely nothing wrong with me. I just want him to drive me instead tomorrow. Oh, I keep saying tomorrow. You're still coming with me though"

I sat on the bed, still confused at my girlfriend's new attitude, "you know, sometimes I don't understand you"

She smiled, "yeah, I don't understand myself either" she sat on my laps, pulling whatever she's seeing on my head, "but it's the way I am, babe", she continued before leaning down and capturing my lips with hers

I pulled her closer and was about to deepen the kiss, when she pulled back, making me glare at her, "I hate you"

She smiled instead, "awwn, it's a pity though, because you're stuck with me already, but don't you want another 'thank you' reward?" She asked, while twirling my necklace.

'She's gonna drive me crazy, I know it'

"I do", I answered readily, not wanting to waste time any longer

She stood up though, "but...", she dragged, "...I have to tell you what I have against Peter", she said, looking straight in my eyes

All lustful thoughts ran out of my head,

'This cannot be good'
