The wedding

The Bride stood waiting for his groom in the middle of the hall. Everything that was needed for the wedding had been set in the room.

The guests took their places band waited for the groom to arrive. They were a little bit curious of who the boy is and what he could have that he had caught the princess's attention.

The music played in the background as they waited. Their wait was not for long as the doors to the ball room opened and in came the groom. His parents held his hands and led him down the aisle.

Draxan dreaded every minute of that day. He was getting married to the future queen of the kingdom. That was something that many men would happy agree to but he was not most people. He hated having to do this.

The wedding was a golden cage in which he would be trapped in for the rest of his life. A cage that was going to dictate how he lived his life and that was enough reason to hate it.

He could not help but hate the princess for taking his freedom away from him. The one thing that could have helped him forge his identity.

"Try to smile and look happy," his mother advised to him.

Draxan gave her a weak smile, he was not in mood to fake a smile when he was not happy with what was going on. If only he had a say in the matter, then he would not be as helpless as he was.

They reached the center of the hall. His mother made him seat on the place that was reserved for him. Right opposite from the bride. The space between them was also very small one move and his legs would touch that of his bride.

He looked up to see what the princess looked like, he had heard rumors that she was a beauty but was never lucky to have met her in person.

He just hoped that she was one of those people that he hated, that she not a gender biased. And that she respected people of both gender unlike that girl from the market.

He had tried not to think too much about her but it was hard to let her go. Her beauty had caught his attention. That was before she opened her mouth to talk to him, after that he was so enraged by her.

The way she looked down on him for something that he couldn't control was surprising. Indeed beauty was nothing if one has no good heart.

The wedding began with the priest taking his place. The priest asked the everyone to remain silent while she conducted the wedding.

First, the bride and groom were to exchange their vows before the congregation. The priest gave them an option of either going for the one that they made themselves or settle for the one that the church provided.

"I will go with the princess chooses," Draxan replied to the priest. He didn't want to choose either as the wedding was bring forced on him. But he didn't want to embarrass his mother either so he decided to pass the chance to the princess.

"I think that the we can use the one for the church," Ariadne stated to the priest. "Bit I wish for the ring ceremony to be done first," she ordered more than requested.

Her word was law in Acerradia and the priest hearing this couldn't help but agree. The rings were brought for them.

"With this ring I will make sure that I clip your wings you arrogant male," she whispered to herself.

"With this ring my future will be ruined forever," Draxan whispered to himself. The ring that was in his hand was like cuffs that were going to bound him making him unable to fulfill his dreams.

It was a small diamond ring but the weight of it was such that his hands trembled at carrying it. He wished that he had the ability to throw the ring away and walk out of their before being bound to the princess.

"What are you thinking about?" Ariadne asked. Her question was not meant to find out his thoughts but rather to awaken him from his thoughts. The most important thing to her was for him to witness every moment that happened at their wedding.

She could hardly see past the veil that she was forced to wear but she was certain that he was not having a good time.

Her revenge was going exactly as planned. She had no intentions of making any vows to him and hence she had requested to skip that part of the ceremony.

Once the ring ceremony was done they will move on. She was not interested in making false promises to the male when she had no intention on making the marriage work.

A year was all she needed to crash every dreams and desires that Draxan had. When she was done, they will go separate ways.
