Fourteen

It is at this moment that a teacher arrives, he sees the state of the demons that we had almost killed.

"You didn't fall on the right enemy, you could have died." he said before approaching us.

The security in this camp was therefore as much neglected. I turn around to see the state of Theyla, she looked like her left leg was in pain.

I went over to her to help her walk or rather carry her. There was still debris from our fight all over the cave.

There were rocks everywhere and the walls were cracked, I had taken the ruby during Theyla's fight. I wanted to help her, but she probably wouldn't have liked it if I had helped her during her fight.

Ayumi didn't talk to us, but I had the impression that she was impressed by what had happened. I still wonder how such high class demons even got here.

"You did really well, Theyla. You too Ayumi." I nodded as we headed for the infirmary.

Neither of them answered me, they just flashed me a smile. I didn't need an answer but hearing me say it must have made them really happy.

We walk along the forest, I look at the trees, they look like they have been savagely attacked. It must have been a blow. They must have been wanted, they never spoke.

We must have spent at least 1h30 fighting them. It wasn't necessarily difficult, but the last one seemed to be the strongest of them. Theyla really impressed me during the fight.

Ayumi was slightly injured, her uniform must have torn during the fight, but I didn't know why I was happy that she was doing alright .

She had been my friend and then betrayed me. I don't even know why she did it. She never came to 'apologize'. I wonder what she's thinking.

Ayumi was almost smiling too much in my opinion. We finally arrived in front of the infirmary building. I was expecting something bigger.

It was just a small white room that was in the forest. There probably weren't many people going to the infirmary, I thought. The headmaster was waiting for us, I recognized my mums in the distance and Theyla's parents, but I didn't understand what the king was doing here.

Had we done something illegal, I was confused, I looked at Theyla, and she had the same surprised expression as me. Ayumi, on the other hand, looked even happier.

Ayumi ran over to him and hugged him. Had I missed something.

"I'm glad to see my daughter is doing so well," he had said happily.

I was even more confused, why he had called her his daughter. I had never known her father before, and now I was told that she was a member of the royal family.

The nurse arrived and took Theyla, her wound was the most serious but in an instant she was healed. This nurse must have been the most competent I have ever seen.

The nurses I knew before her would spend their time on the phone, and when you were seriously injured they would give you sugar and tell you that everything would be better. There were even times when I wondered what they did with the medicines. Did they sell them illegally?

Theyla was back on her feet and could walk again without any help. Her parents were relieved to see her and then Louise and Rose approached me. They looked at me to see if I was hurt but nothing.

"I'm fine, don't worry",I said trying to calm the situation, but there was still something bothering me.

How could Ayumi be part of the royal family. Her mother lived in a very normal house and Ayumi wasn't the type to brag about it. I approached the king and bowed to him.

" Your highness, I have a question to ask you." I was polite, he was still the king, and he was not the type to like people.

In fact he was a very bad king in my opinion, he thought much more about himself than about the others. He had increased taxes to make himself richer and decreased the number of missions for the poorest.

He only made the richer ones richer. He didn't care what happened to others and if anyone contradicted him he made sure that person was killed.

The king looked at me with his black eyes and his light skin with white hair because of his age. He had a crown on his head and was overweight from all the food he ate. His belly was almost showing through his clothes. How could someone like him have reached the throne?

"I'm listening, young lady," he said, and with his red clothes all he would need was a hat, and he would look like Santa Claus. I try my best not to roll my eyes at him.

"I didn't know you had a daughter," I said, looking at Ayumi before turning back to him. He laughed, holding his stomach, and then looked at me with a more serious expression.

"Her mother doesn't like me being with her, she left me after a few months after Ayumi was born, and I didn't accept it, so I told her either she accepts that I see my daughter or I kill her. "

Kill, this word was the one the king used the most. Since his reign began he must have killed more than two hundred people. He was merciless except for his relatives and the richest people.

"Ayumi is my only child you see, I want her to be the one to inherit my throne, she must become queen when I die."

He wanted to entrust his reign to Ayumi, but would she reign better than him? Let's imagine that she was like her father, and then she didn't hesitate to betray me.

Ayumi was not someone to be trusted. The kingdom is in very bad hands, but luckily there's always the captain. The captain is the one who takes care of minimizing the king's fraudulent decisions.

A captain was not elected but shone by his power. He was the strongest in the kingdom and the king could not go back on his decisions for fear of being killed.

My goal was to become a captain, but that might be more complicated. Now I have a much better plan in mind.

I just had to get closer to Ayumi. I would just have to become her spy. Promise her things and then kill her father. For everyone good.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes.
