They took the side paths, avoiding the areas where guests might be lounging at this time of the afternoon. There were several paths like this, shielded with tall hedges and decorated with flowers. They were pleasing to the eye, added privacy and allowed staff to move about without being seen.
"Through here." Orion ducked through an opening in the hedges.
It let out on his office patio.
Did anyone ever use the space? She couldn't think of another person who had in all the time they'd been there.
Orion unlocked the exterior door and held the curtains back for her. He carefully slid the door shut behind her.
"Let's keep from turning on the lights. It would probably be best if people thought we came back and went straight to the residence," he said.
