Chapter 94: Jennifer

That made Jennifer pause. "Now I'm interested."

He offered her the drink again. "Sparkling cider. I watched them open and pour the glass."

"Bless you." She sipped the bubbly liquid and studied him.

Ivy had described him as a bad boy the first time Jennifer remembered hearing about the man she was working with on her last Aegis Group gig. The description wasn't wrong. There was just something about him that seemed both dangerous and fun. A bad combination, save for the fact that he'd married her friend.

"I hope I pass muster," he said with wry amusement.

"We'll see."

"I faked my death for that woman," he muttered.

Jennifer smothered a laugh. This was a story she had to know.

He gestured toward a painting no one was looking at, and they meandered toward it. "As I understand it, I owe you a debt."

"You do?"

"Back when we wound up on Ibiza, Orion wasn't interested in helping us until someone brought up your name." He chuckled. "Seems you were the password."
