The Talk

Brenna closed the door of her bedroom firmly with a loud click behind the three and began gathering her things. She was a little angry as she slammed items into her bag. Those two were really getting out of hand. Someone was breaking into her place and all they cared about was who could claim her. She quickly changed into jeans and a sweatshirt while shoving her sleeping garments in the bag along with her toiletries.

On the way out to Tahnee’s, Brenna didn’t hesitate to let Slaton have it. She had kept herself quiet until they were alone. Now was the time to vent.

“Really, Slaton, why do you have to goad Eaton? There was no need for any of that.” She turned to face him.

“Yes, there was. He needed to know that you were staying with us.” He kept his eyes straight on the road and used his driving as an excuse to not have to look her in the eye.
