“Unstoppable?” All of this was really too much for her to comprehend. Was any of it real?


Slaton’s breath caught in his chest. This was turning out to be so much more complicated than any of them had imagined.  He looked at Brenna and wondered at how it all came about.


“Almost. Yes.” Tahnee watched her closely. She could see the shock and confusion on Brenna’s face.


Stay close. I’m afraid this might be her breaking point.


Be there emotionally, too. She needs that more than anything right now.


Tahnee reached out and took Brenna’s hand. “Are you okay?” She rubbed the cold hand as only a mother knew how.


“No. I’m not.” She shook her head. Nothing was okay right now. “How can he be stopped?”
