Daring

Taking a deep breath, she paused at the edge of the woods. One more step and there would be no going back. She had to go through with it. There was no other choice. Standing straight, she pushed in and kept walking without looking left or right. Only when she approached an old rock formation did she pause and look around. She was surprised to have made it this far without an incident. Looking around, she turned back to the rock. There before her was the man that haunted her. She gasped and took a step back.

He looked at her, then all around her. Noting that she was alone, he smiled and sauntered toward her. “Well, seems you can’t resist me. How did you ever manage to escape the clutches of your protectors?”

She backed up slowly. “I have my ways.”

His eyes widened in surprise. “You’re actually giving yourself up to me?”
