THE DANGEROUS PAIR

The sun never hated the moon even though they never appeared together on Earth. They weren't enemies, and the sun was even willing to share its light with the moon which was finally reflected on the moon's surface.

But, Lin Zhu and Ye Quan hated each other to the root. Even though they were often seen standing beside each other, there was no warmth shared between the two men. The atmosphere between them was always chilly to the bone.

Lin Zhu had always known about this fact. He had always hated Ye Quan, and the latter hated him as well. But, it was only today that he felt like his heart was being pierced by thousand needles when he heard the older man openly announce his hatred toward him.

Lin Zhu drew his gaze away from Ye Quan as he tried to hide his disappointment.

"I hate you too," Lin Zhu replied with a slightly trembling voice, and he cleared his throat to strengthen his voice. "I hate you too, so let's not go close to each other and keep our distance. You can stop teasing me, so we don't need to interact."

Lin Zhu didn't have his eyes fixed on Ye Quan, so he didn't know what kind of expression was made by the other man upon hearing his statement.

Ye Quan wasn't showing any change of expression, though. He was still looking down at Lin Zhu with the same gaze as before. "Alright," he finally replied. "I will stop teasing you, but with one condition."

Lin Zhu finally looked up at the taller man while frowning at him.

"If we can win the match today, then I will stop bothering you. But if we can't win today, then I will keep bothering you as a punishment for you."

Lin Zhu glared at Ye Quan after hearing the absurd condition of the man. "That doesn't make sense!" He immediately rejected the condition. "We will play together as a team, but I'm the only one who will get the punishment if we can't win the match?"

"It's because you're the one who asked me to stop teasing you. I can't let you go freely."

Lin Zhu clenched his fist tightly. "You are crazy, Ye Quan!" He exclaimed angrily. "Why do you like to tease me so much, anyway? You said you hate me, so you should stay away from me!"

Ye Quan had already opened his mouth to answer Lin Zhu's question, but suddenly, they heard Coach Cheng's voice.

"It's time for you to go to the court, boys! Have you finished preparing yourself?"

The two men turned their heads toward the voice simultaneously. They were busy fighting, and they didn't realize that the previous match in court 1 had ended. They looked nervous all of a sudden.

Didn't want to make the coach wait for them for too long, the two athletes quickly grabbed their racket bags and walked towards their coach.

Lin Zhu told himself to forget about their dispute earlier. He would still confront Ye Quan about that one thing that perked his curiosity, but it was not the right time now.

Both athletes stepped out of the changing room and were welcomed by loud applause from the spectators.

Lin Zhu gulped nervously. The spectators were just fair to any athletes who were about to play today. Other than giving support to Korean athletes, they appreciated athletes from outside the country as well.

Lin Zhu tried to calm himself down as he smiled a little at the crowds.

After walking for some time, they finally arrived at court 1 where they were going to make their debut officially. They immediately put down their racket bags and took out their racket from the bags. They then walked towards the umpire who was waiting for them in the court.

Their opponent was there as well. The Indonesian pair didn't have the intimidating postures that could extinguish their confidence right away. Lin Zhu had read about their information, and their heights were even below his.

Even so, the pair were known for their speeds and strong powers. If Lin Zhu wasn't careful, the pair would defeat him so easily.

The umpire started the draw with some words, and he began to toss a coin on his palm. From the coin tossing, it was decided that the Indonesian pair would serve first.

The umpire climbed up the chair while the two pairs started warming up in the court.

Ye Quan grabbed a shuttlecock and sent the white object toward Lin Zhu with his racket sway. Lin Zhu calmly returned the shuttlecock to the older man, and they warmed up peacefully without showing any sign of discomfort.

A few minutes passed, and finally, the umpire stopped their warming-up session. They instructed the pair to get ready for the match.

After the two pairs were ready in their positions, the coach proudly announced the athletes' names in front of the spectators. Upon finishing the procession, the umpire officially started the match.

Leo Christian was ready with the shuttlecock, and he directed the white object to Lin Zhu. Lin Zhu was a bit surprised when he received the ball. Leo Christian's flick service was dangerous that he almost failed to return the ball!

Lin Zhu had read the information about the athlete, and Leo Christian was indeed known for his dangerous flick service. The Indonesian athlete didn't show any weird signs when he was getting ready for service, but when his racket finally hit the shuttlecock, the object suddenly flew higher than Lin Zhu had expected.

His body flinched before he hastily straightened his body to reach the ball. Fortunately, Lin Zhu was able to return the ball, but the return was not perfect! It was an easy ball for Anton Kusuma to smash!

One more piece of information about the Indonesian pair. Anton Kusuma was currently holding the record as a badminton athlete with the strongest smash in the world!

They were such a dangerous pair!
