Growing silence

Nancy's POV

It was so dark when I looked outside the window, everything was pitch black. The only thing I could hear was the birds in the skies singing. I couldn't record how long I had passed out nor did I know the time of the night it was.

We soon reached Barbara's chamber where the doctors were treating her. When I saw her I trembled in fear, it was worse than I had thought. I held my mouth, trying to control myself from screaming though everything in me was.

Baby would not let me go inside, I couldn't argue anyway since my body was trembling in fear. After a while, Roland walks out of the room to speak to us.

"I managed to stabilize her," Roland whispered. "If so why is she not getting up?" I asked in tears knowing he had more to say.

"The poison was strong and it had spread into her body, I managed to clear most of them but-" Roland sputtered staring at me in particular. Poison??? He just took away my last hope.
