Mary-Anne

Nancy's POV

I figured it was time to do something important but I couldn't pinpoint what it was. He never hides anything from me so I wonder what it is that he couldn't tell me or do it in my presence.

"Fine sure, Barbie it's time to go," I said calling out to Barbie, she came out shortly after holding a bunch of books she picked to read at home.

"Can I borrow these books uncle?" Barbie asked. "Sure thing dear," Roland quickly replied without even looking at her.

"See ya," I whispered as I held Barbie's hand and we walked to the door. Something seems off. I know Roland can take care of himself but his reaction a while ago made me worried. He is my friend and I want to be there for him.

Don't get me wrong I don't doubt him, he has been there for me a lot more than I could count, but I needed to know why he was acting that way.

"You guys wait for me here, I forgot something back in there, I will grab it real quick then we can leave," I said.
