CHAPTER 28

HENRIQUE DECIDES TO GO TO ALL OR NOTHING, in a fraction of a second, or milliseconds, his life would join that of his grandfather.

But even then luck was with him...

He jumped on the line with an impulse and all the care that fear gave him not to step on the train tracks and die electrocuted.

He just had to step on the concrete...

When he achieved his goal – even dying in pain in his legs from the impact he had – luckily, the subway felt Jabaquara had its doors open and he entered as if nothing had happened.

HENRIQUE GOT DOWN at the station Paraíso and continued on foot, less than fifteen minutes later, Armand already knew where he was.

Damn... these guys always know where I am...

Henrique ran into a restaurant, trying to buy time to think about something.

This something happened unexpectedly.

A client grabbed his arm and while trying to get rid of him, the guy used the speed of the body as a base, rotating it and with a single stroke knocked them both down.

–– Come with me boy – said the stranger.

AFTER WATCHING LIVE the escape of Henrique Cardeñas, the deputy called Sandro and updated him with the facts.

The deputy was completely exhausted, he had already worked more than forty-eight uninterrupted hours, and until now he had only taken classes in "old school history".

Everything was very fanciful, and nothing else made sense... it was logical for Marcus Saldanha that Sandro was the best detective in Brazil, perhaps in the world, but Nazism, Freemasonry, Thule society, Templars, Catholic Church and Jesus... all in a single crime?

It was too much creativity...

Marcus was alone in his office when he decided to come home and get some rest.

I'm not made of steel either...

Chief Saldanha was driving his car and all that came into his head were stories.

THE TWO LEFT OUT of the backgrounds of the restaurant, took the first taxi that appeared and went down a few blocks later.

When they felt a certain security, Henrique said:

–– I do not know how to thank you.

–– I know – said the boy – tell me everything that is really happening, I want to take revenge for the death of your grandfather.

Henrique looked with astonishment at the boy who had saved him.

–– I also don't know what's going on – continued the boy – but, I'm investigating your grandfather's death, my name is Bernardo Garcia.
