overdrive

after the great war with the demons, the humans and some other races managed to eradicate them from the whole empire.

while the Zenos Kingdom has a lot of elves, the 'Hakusa dynast' is known as the human-only kingdom,

the smallest out of the three, 'Yeshou kingdom', where only beasts, and beast humans live.

the demons were trying to infiltrate between them while corrupting humans, to gain internal support.

the 'Duan family' was the ruler of the kingdom (kingdom of Zenos), but after some big events with the imperial army and the royal princess, the whole kingdom got to see the true face of their rulers.

the Duan family... their whole family, were demons.

they were 'imps' they mostly rely on human blood or life energy to live.

after some civil war between the all four region of the kingdom, they managed to destroy the overlord clan(it's not the name but represents their strength).

now it's been over a few decades, the matter of the demons, infiltrating among civilians were kept secret, while some organizations were working on the cracks to solve the issues.

now the kingdom of Zenos is directly taken over by the imperial family (Lian family).

as for the new rulers... the 'Williams' duchy is the current overlord of the kingdom, as their wealth and combat strength if far surpass the other rival families, clans.

the Ruan family for example, is the second most strongest power in the whole kingdom and technically ruling over the eastern region.(not really the official rulers)

now to complete over take the entire kingdom the great strength among the kingdom, were on a civil war.(well.. whatever.)

back at the inn, where Ethan was resting.

"look.. she is up."

Ethan pointed towards the other bed where the girl, from frost palace was resting.

"yeah.. let me check."

yaling helped her get up, she was injured and tired after all..

"what..."she looked at Yaling then turned her gaze to Ethan.

"where am i? who are you?" the girl said while putting back her guard, even though, she looked calm, but pretty cautious.

"ah.. my name is Mo Yaling, and he is my master.. Ethan."

Mo Yaling said not to disclose their identity.

"hello, my name is Xie Yuan, i am from frost palace, where are we..?"

she introduced her calmly and coldly but directly went to the point.

"yesterday you passed out, because of bloodloss, and she brought you her and treated her wounds, and this is the inn we are staying."

Ethan said in a very calm manner, while a smile on his face.

"t-thank yo-" the girl was somewhat, nervous, because of his looks, well.. it's natural

"haha.. don't mention it, and the poison.. we already dealt with it, so rest for a while before you leave." Ethan said.

"then i will be bothering you." the girl said before went back to sleep.

'haizz.. looks like she doesn't like talking much'

unbeknownst to him, she was a little embarrassed, looking at his natural charm.

as for the rest of the day they extended their stay and booked for one more room.

with the healing potions and rest, they both were ready to go.

"looks like we are parting here, it was nice to meet you, lady Xie Yuan.." Ethan said.

"thank you for everything, i hope we will meet in future."

"Xie Yuan.. where are you heading to? if you don't mind me asking." yaling said.

"i am heading to the eastern region, frost palace."

after bidding their farewell they left on their way.

even with the mutated beast's terrifying speed It took 2 more days, to reach the northern region.

"haah.. we are finally here.." Yaling said as they entered a huge gate, with beast structures.

"what is this place?" Ethan was curious.

he knelt on the floor, as the gravity felt heavier.

"counter it." but he somehow managed to command.

"Ethan what happened?" yaling shouted looking at Ethan, who is on his knees.

Ethan was barely able to speak as the suppression is directed to his soul, its very hard for him to keep his consciousness.

"arghhh..." Ethan shouted as his eyes got darkened, and closed his eyes

after a few seconds, his eyes opened, the usual void dark eyes were glistening in dark blue.

suddenly he stood up.

"Ethan are you alright, what happened to you?"

yaling was shouting while grabbing his clothes.

suddenly a middle-aged man appeared on top of the gate.

<< eliminating the threat.>>

"not bad kid, it's very surprising that you can withstand my pressure."

Ethan's hand extended to him while pointing him his palm.

"haha.. what is is kid? are you angry? well sorry i tried to test your str-"

he couldn't finish his sentence as a dark beam rushed towards him.

the speed was something.. the middle aged man somehow managed to dodge the attack, but the power... the dark beam carried the power that could destroy him if he were not to dodge.

"calm down boy, i wasn't trying to harm you.. let m-"

a punch landed on his chest, "arghh-phh"

the punch didn't contained a single strand of qi nor any essence.

the man was thrown away a hundred meters by the punch, crashing on a tree.

"argh..*puke*" he vomited blood, while struggling to stand up.

"i need to get out of here.. he is a freaking monster,"

the man said while concealing his presence.

Ethan flew towards him like a flash, for another punch.

*tear* the man managed to use his life saving talisman before he got hit by his punch.

*boom*

vanishing from there like a ghost, Ethan's punch landed on the tree, sweeping away half of the grass fields.

Without any explanation Ethan collapsed on the ground, Yaling rushed towards him and put his head on her lap while checking his pulse.

"Young master.. wake up, are you all right?, answer me." she slowly slapped his cheeks to wake him up.

"..uhmm, what? where am i?" Ethan looked at the beautiful face in front of him.

"Yaling? what happened?" he said while getting up.

*hugs* "waa.. young master.. " she hugged him by his neck tightly, pushing his head on her bossom.

he didn't understand anything, but patted her back to calm her down, "there there.."

after calming down a bit he wiped her tears.

"what happened to you.. who is that man? and what is this?" she said while pointing to the ruined grass fields and the tree.

"huh?.." he slowly remembered everything before he had collapsed.

returning his amusement gaze to Yaling, slowly patted her head. "don't worry.. it's nothing, it's just a special skill.. and about that man i don't know him either."

after some discussion, they went inside the city ignoring the ruined beautiful grassfield.

"young master, what should we do? it will take a couple of days to reach the Phoenix city."

"it's alright, let's go around this city first, and book a inn."

after booking a two bed room, they went around the city for a stroll.
