Biologist Elain Mavka is sent to a foreign planet recently named Miea.  A place where she gets free range to explore, document, and report the findings of site 27-43. Otherwise known as the Mushroom Forest. What seems to be beautiful and mysterious turns out to be just that. Where Elain is the first explorer to make contact with humanoid aliens. Though are they really the aliens when she is on their planet?

Her only company on this journey is young Milo Zephyr, who is still in his training wheels, and Selcouth, a companion she encounters soon after their arrival. Well, them and the strange feeling that they are being watched.

On another side of the spectrum, the older sister (Enya) of her infant brother (Kenton) are looking for a way to survive up in the station effectively named Head Quarters. Her with an assistant's job to keep everything in order on the ship. Then, with no explanation, there was a sudden blaring siren and flashing red lights. A guard she knew, who was a few years older than her, marches them straight to an escape pod. Sending them to a planet they've never known before.

The three of them landed on completely unexplored territory of this planet and it didn't take long for Enya to stumble into a nine-foot monster of a creature. Or, rather, it stumbled into her.

“I can see where you may be coming from, Frederick, but…” He cut Elain off again to interrupt with more reasons that 89-3 would be the best site for them all. She was starting to get frustrated all over again. This conversation was going nowhere and nobody was allowing for a counter argument from her. 


To be clear, she had no problem with living on a beach. None at all! Except for the fact that it would limit their food sources drastically. Not to mention they would be traveling for days on end. Then you have the fact that it is cited to be one of the most aggressive locations just from the small amount of time that the scientists had to study it. There were as many cons to living there as there were pros. These two were smart enough to make it to the planet, they should know to be unbiased in their decisions and observations.
