Chapter 72: Confirmation

I gasp, startling myself awake as I scanned my surroundings in a haze. I groaned and rubbed at my eyes wearily before straightening my posture.

When did I fall asleep? To think I would leave myself to be this vulnerable on a day like this...

I jolted in my seat as I noticed the wolf staring at me from across the room. She kept her watchful eyes on me, almost as if she were sizing me up as I frowned.

Even so, she is but an animal. Its impossible for them to hurt me. Though the opposite is untrue for her. Sol seemed particularly worried about her so I can't do anything bad to her.

I briefly peel my eyes from her and glanced at the time before sighing. It was a few hours to daybreak. Heading outside was still dangerous.

Only when I felt the ticklish sensation on my cheek did I realise Sol was fast asleep beside me. I instantly froze as I couldn't help but keep my eyes off of him.
