Chapter 111: How The Tables Turn

The rain never seemed to stop as I glanced over my shoulder at Sol who was fast asleep. I stroked his head, smiling solemnly as he nuzzles up to my hand and moans in his sleep.

"You came all this way to pick me up but... I don't know if I can even return. But on the off chance that she does something to you... I'd rather have you leave alone." I whispered to myself, ignoring how tremulous my voice was as I quickly swiped away the tear on the brink of sliding down my face.

I tucked Sol in bed, getting out of the bed quietly as he shifts in his sleep. I peeked over my shoulder, checking that he was still fast asleep before I headed for the door.

I noticed a notepad by the door, pondering whether to leave a message. I glanced at Sol's sleeping figure on the bed and touched the pendant around my neck.
