Chapter 123: Unexpected News

I peeled back the foliage that hindered my vision, making my way into the clearing as the faint silhouette of the gazebo came into view amidst the clouds of mist. I stuffed the compass Aries had handed me before I left into my pocket, lifting my gaze as I made my way towards the gazebo.

As I advanced towards the gazebo, the outline of a woman gradually became visible. I straightened my clothes and combed my hair back to look presentable. She was Aries' mother, after all. 

"Good evening, I'm sorry I've arrived late." I said, sitting across from her as I slipped into the gazebo.

"It's alright, I never mentioned a time—" Aries' mother lights up before the sliver of moonlight that lit up the gazebo cloaked the two of us in its gentle caress.

"I see... He didn't show up in the end..." A flash of disappointment lit in her eyes as she trailed off. I swallowed nervously, concious of the despondence in her tone of voice.
