Ben and et al (people who worked on the game) video game: The Old Days: Medieval Times -
The game was free when it was being beta tested for eight weeks. When it was time for its final release the game was sold for $4.99 in the play store and two, big gaming platforms.
Choose which gender you want to be. Don't worry after that is the best part. Yes, you can customize your character's as well. Take all the time you need.
Now that everything's finished, the character would be randomized to a certain background: being a slave, farmer, miner, maid, butler, gladiator, soldier, knight, commander, nobles, kings, queens, princes, princesses, heroes, heroines, etc etc.
Pull rates from lowest to highest are: un/common backgrounds are 65% (0.65); rare backgrounds are 20% (0.20), epic backgrounds are 14% (0.14), and legendary backgrounds are 1% (0.01) = in-total 100% (1.00)
You get three, free re-rolls on top of your first roll (4 rolls total) if you didn't get the background you wanted.
P2W option - a $0.99 package to buy three more re-rolls. A $1.99 package for seven; a $2.99 package for fifteen. A $4.99 package for forty

Next choose the difficulty of the game from: easy, normal, hard, extreme, or hell modes.
Easy mode - The AI of the enemies/NPCs you will encounter would be weak, under level, easy to kill, easy to bargain, etc. This mode will help you learn the basics of the game, game mechanics and is slower pace for beginners.
Normal mode - The game is set back to its original difficulty: AI can think and react a little bit better, but it's not much of a problem for you to handle. Unless you've made a careless mistake, well then, it's too bad for you.
Hard mode - The game is set to a 1.5 - 2x more difficulty than the previous mode. The AI can think like a person does and make better choices and strategies. Better keep thinking on your feet, otherwise you'll be back at the start of the game. You don't want to lose all of your progress from the start, do you?
Hell mode - The game is set to a 2.5 - 5x more difficulty than normal mode. Well, it was nice meeting you, Player. The AI plays chess and thinks about 10 to 30, maybe 50 steps ahead of you. You should head back to the drawing board to think about your character's life choices. How and why did you think this was a good idea? Did you touch it by accident or was it something else? Nevermind. You must have been spending too much of your money on this difficulty. Think about your poor wallet that is already on life support, but now, it's more than 6 feet under wherever you're standing. Was it worth the cost?

Sparing the other details, you probably know what will happen if you have a certain background and they each have different stories involved.
Now, that's out of the way, you will then be placed in a randomized birthplace (either from North, South, West, East, or Central of the Continent of Iustrux, it is as big as Europe, Asia, and Africa combined) to begin your journey.

For example, how your character info/profile would look like, but separated into different windows.

Special Races and parts of the map/the world are locked until you finish at least 3 different lifetimes. Meaning you accomplish/achieve what you think you did best in your character's lifespan. If you want to speed up that process then spend $1.99.
Special Races: elves, orcs, goblins, vampires, dwarves, the undead (skeletons, zombies, ghouls, ghosts, etc), beastman, animals, mermaids, sirens, etc.
Now there are 4 more continents to explore either you have finished 3 lifetimes or paid-to-win (p2w).
30 minutes = 1 game day; 210 minutes or 3.5 hours = 7 game days/1 game week.
Well, if you have gotten this far you already know that this game is going to be very complex and grindy. This is really just an indie game? Yup, it sure is.
