Chapter 28: Sol

-In a bar-

"So you're saying that he's not our ally, Sensei?" Kurogiri said to the man on the television.

[Yes. And it will probably remain that way. Don't worry. Giran is already looking for some new recruits. In the meantime, assist the hero killer with his shenanigans, as it helps us too.] The voice said to the speaker.

After landing at the airport and getting his baggage, Araki opted to fix his messy jacket. Along him are a guard and a couple of hero sidekicks. One of them is a beautiful woman in a violet dress.

"Did Vincent send you here? You know that you're about to be questioned by the FBI, right?" Araki said as he smiled. He was speaking in French.

"Oh, don't bother. Vincent will handle it. In the meantime, you should enjoy your stay. After all, we're the host." The woman said to him in a teasing voice.

"Is that an invitation from a Mademoiselle? You should watch out, Margaret. If you talk to a high-school student with that voice, people would judge you, you know?" Araki said to Margaret, making her raise her eyebrows.

"Oh really? It's not like I mind." Margaret said.

"Yeah? But my supervisor does." Araki points to the Hound Dog in his casual clothes who just arrived. He came from the back of the group so they didn't notice him.

Margaret looks at the man and immediately shakes his hands.

"I'm so sorry for my friend, sir. We're pretty close so she jokes about that a lot." Hound Dog accepts the handshake from Margaret who has a big smile on her face. He then looks at Araki.

"I don't mind. I can see that you look close and this madam seems nice."

"Sir, do you mind if I go to the bathroom for a bit?" Araki asks.

"No, you can go. I'll wait here. But make it quick! Do you realize that you could've used the restroom on the plane!?" Hound Dog passionately replies. He was still in clear mind but the timing makes him irritate a bit.

"I'm sorry sir. I'll go now." Araki runs to the bathroom. A minute later, Araki comes out, just finished wiping his washed hands.

"Let's go, everyone," Araki said as he picks up his baggage and hero costume. However, Hound Dog didn't walk immediately. He sniff the kid, smelling something weird, but then disregards it as he can't tell what it was.

'Maybe it's because of the bathroom.' He thought to himself.

"NO! PLEASE! NO! DON'T KILL ME! I REALLY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!"

*Bang*

A loud screaming and a deafening gunshot can be heard in the other room. But even with all of this, Colin looks at the man in front of him with unwavering eyes. The man has luscious golden hair, a charming face, a beautiful innocent smile, and watchful eyes.

The man was sitting in a backward classroom chair with his hands on the backrest. Meanwhile, Colin's arms and legs were tied.

"Sol, this one's useless." Another man peeks through the classroom door as he said to the man named Sol. Hearing what the other man said, Sol looks at Colin with the same innocent smile and raises three middle fingers.

"Select one. The pointer's for a knife, the middle's for a gun, and the ring's for my quirk. You should choose wisely." The man's voice was innocent but the content of what he's saying isn't. Colin didn't answer for a few seconds and the man spoke again.

"You know Colin, I'm a reasonable guy. We both know that we don't have all day here. Also, you wouldn't want me to go to your family, don't you? All three of them. You are quite the playboy, aren't you? Now pick." The man's tone didn't change but it got even more threatening.

Still, Colin's eyes didn't change, and even challenged Sol. "Do you really think that I believe you? Or that I care? Bring your best shot."

Sol simply showed a more charming smile before tapping something on his phone. He shows it to Colin and his face changes visibly. He changed from brave and confident to scared and panicking.

On the phone, Sol shows him two unconscious people in a video call – one adult woman and one young boy.

"I know that you don't care about your two other families, with one being your first one so I didn't really care. But really? Indonesia? Why would you even send them there and think that they're safe?" Sol said to Colin and he shakes visibly.

"No! No! Leave them alone! Don't involve them here! You want Flect Turn right? I can tell you where his hideout is! No, I can take you there! Just don't do it." Colin said as he tries to free his body. It even fell and he tried to crawl to Sol while bound.

"No. I told you to choose. Don't worry, you can still save them." Colin panics as he tries to negotiate with Sol but he shushes him and told him to pick as he makes him sit again. He puts his phone on a nearby wall to stabilize it and lets Colin see it. With a little persuasion, Colin calms down and thought about what to choose.

"I choose… the kni- no, the gun." "Is that a fuck you to me?" "No! No! Absolutely not!"

Colin panics as Sol teases him but he opens his long overcoat to show a gold .44 Magnum revolver. This made the former swallow his saliva and panic as in the corner of his eyes, he saw the same thing in the phone.

"Oi! Oi! Oi! What does this mean?! I choose, didn't I? Why is someone in there with a gun?!" As if he didn't hear him, Sol inserts one bullet into the empty chamber and spun it before closing it again, essentially, a Russian roulette. But the same thing is happening on the other side of the phone with the gun pointed at Colin's wife.

Sol aims the revolver at Colin's head and the latter didn't even care. With no hesitation, Sol moves his finger to pull the trigger.

*Tch*

It was an empty slot. Colin only flinched when he heard the same sound from the phone. Sol spun the chamber again before pointing it again at Colin's head.

"You want them alive, right? Why are you not talking? If this bullet unluckily kills you, they're dead too, you know?" With this, Colin's attention returned to Sol. He was about to start spilling the secrets of his organization when he hears a click. Another empty slot. However, Colin's heart drops when he hears a loud bang from the phone. In there, blood splatters and brain matter scattered everywhere as he saw his lover's dead body.

His anger overtakes him as he violently fell and crawls to Sol's feet, biting it. The man simply spun and aim the gun to his head again before pointing at the phone.

"God, what a bad luck. Don't worry, you still have another chance. Your kid is still here, so you better hurry up. These bullets won't wait."
