Introductions

A solitary figure stalked away from the house in a heat of anger. No one noticed them leave, which was probably a good thing. If they had they might have gotten their heads bitten off.

Unbeknownst to the danger outside, Jared and Bella finally pulled apart breathing hard. They rested their foreheads together and closed their eyes, both attempting to try and calm their rapid beating hearts.

Jared pulled back to look at Bella and smiled, her skin was flushed and her eyes were still closed. Her long wavy brown hair framed her face nicely and her body felt full and warm in his arms. Jared liked that she wasn't thin like most girls he knew. She had curves in all the right places.

Jared chuckled when Bella tried to stifle a yawn. He stood and held his hand out for her to take.

"Bella, I don't want to seem to forward. I ain't asking for anything but do you wanna sleep in my bed with me? It's more comfortable than the sofa," he asked nervously as Bella smiled and took his hand.

'Why not,' she thought to herself. 'We'll only be sleeping next to each other.'

She pulled herself up and nodded. Bella's smile grew wider as his nervous face erupted into one of pure joy. His smile was so wide she couldn't help but respond in kind. Jared walked her to his room and laid down, holding his arm out for her. Bella smiled and laid down, her head on his chest. Their arms wrapped around each other as they both fell into the deepest sleep either of them have ever had.

Bella opened her eyes and found herself back in the forest she had last seen the Jared look-alike. She found herself looking for him but, with a disappointed sigh, realised she was alone. Bella was wearing a similar dress as last time except this one didn't seem as fancy. It was still beautiful and it was easier to move around in.

She decided to sit and wait for whatever was gonna happen and she didn't have to wait long. Not long after she had sat down a twig snapped in the distance, causing her to jump.

Bella turned at the sound of someone laughing and gasped as she noticed a white man standing at the edge of the clearing. His clothes made it seem as if he came from money but his face was what she gasped at most. It looked exactly like the boy in school who had made her nervous.

"Sorry miss, it wasn't my intent to startle you," he said politely with a sickly sweet voice, exactly like the present-day version of him.

He also had the same amber coloured eyes as the one in her class. It was just as unsettling now as it had been during school. He seemed more similar to his counterpart almost as if they were twins or...

'They can't be the exact same person, right? That's impossible,' she thought.

She nodded her head politely at him and then turned around. Bella felt just as unsafe with this version as she did with the other. She wanted nothing more than to be away from him. Bella started to walk away, heading back in what she hoped was the direction of her house.

"Wait! Miss please," he called out.

For some unknown reason, she stopped and looked back at him. He moved towards her slowly, almost as if he was restraining himself.

"My name is Edward Cullen, might I have the honour of knowing your name?" he asked with a bow.

Inwardly, she gasped 'They have the same name.'

"Erm… I'm Miss Isabella Swanley," she said.

'Bloody hell, even my name is similar,' she thought.

Edward gave her a small smile before walking towards her and extending his hand. Slowly, she took it with a gasp. His hand was icy cold, and not the type of cold when it's winter and you have forgotten your gloves, this was the cold of death. He smiled and Bella tried not to cringe as his very cold lips pressed a small kiss onto her hand.

"Your hand is so cold, are you ill?" she asked.

She hadn't meant to ask that. He smiled sadly at her and nodded still gripping her small warm hand in his large cold one.

"I'm not ill, it's something that I cannot help Miss Isabella, I'm always cold," he said with a shrug as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

Bella managed to pull her hands from his and chuckled a little, to hide her nervousness. As she stared at him a memory flashed through her head of a native woman, who took care of her as a child, holding her and telling her the story of her people.

"You feel like the cold ones should in the Quileute legends," Bella didn't fail to notice how he stiffened at that.

"How do you know about the legends?" he asked, staring intently at her as if he was trying to read her thoughts.

"My mother passed away when I was a baby. A native woman looked after me. She told me stories to help me sleep," she explained, Edward nodded.

"So, you know the meaning behind them?" he asked cryptically, she raised an eyebrow at him.

"Yes, she would say the cold ones were what we call blood drinkers, vampires and the spirit warriors were shapeshifters. They would turn into wolves. She always would say never to disbelieve the legends and I had no reason not to believe her. So, Edward are you telling me you're a vampire," she laughed, however, when he didn't return her laugh she stopped.

"It's not true, right? it's impossible, isn't it? Such things are not real, they are just stories, made up to scare children," she said with a nervous laugh.

As she realised the truth she started taking slow steps away from him. Edward looked pained at her departure but allowed her to back away.

"Is everything all right Miss Isabella? Is he bothering you?" came a welcoming voice from behind her.

With relief clear on her face, she smiled as Jared, Kurux and Honga all walked up and stepped in front of her so they were in-between her and Edward. He growled at them and wrinkled his nose at them as if their stench sickened him.

"How dare you think I would harm her, stupid dogs," he cursed.

Dog?' she thought with a gasp. 'Does that mean if vampires are real then so are the shapeshifters? Can these men really turn into wolves?' Bella thought whilst looking at the back of the three men.

All three returned Edwards growl and seemed to vibrate as if they were going to rip right out of their skin.

'Yep,' she thought. 'The legends are true OMG!'.

Bella, without thinking, stepped up to Jared and placed a hand on his bareback, which helped silence her fears and his vibration. She then did the same to Honga and Kurux, they took a little longer but eventually, they did the same. All four men looked shocked at her courage.

"Isabella, come away from them, they are not safe," said Edward in a demanding tone.

'Who does this guy think he is? I've only just met him and he's giving me orders' she thought to herself.

"Mr Cullen, I am safer with them than I am with you. Who do you think you are giving me orders like a servant? We have only just met and you believe that gives you the right to say what I can or can not do?" she demanded.

"I would never harm you," he insisted beckoning her with his arm ."They may never intend to harm you but if they get angry, and they are easily angered, they will if you are too close," he urged.

Bella laughed at him to hide her fear. Jared moved to stand behind her, seeming to sense her need for his presence.

"Edward, did you not see me calm them down just now. I have no doubt what they were feeling and what they are, but I know I am safer with them. I will bid you good day now," she turned her back on Edward and faced the three shocked Native American men.

Bella bolted upright, sweat covering her brow. Almost instantly she was pulled back down. She looked down confused until she notice Jared's arm wrapped tightly around her waist, locking her in place. Bella turned to look at him, his sleep-filled eyes slowly opened to stare at her.

"What are you?" she whispered.
