CHAPTER 4.2 - Illfang

Asuna let go of her rapier and hugged herself while trembling with fear looking at the monster Illfang

"WAAAAAA!!" The scream of the players could be heard Throughout the room "T.. TT.. They've come again" The sentinels are coming to them. They were confused and scared so they started running towards the door but the Sentinels blocked them and attack them. Some of the players die and become fragments

"Calm down! Just deal with them like what we did before!" Kirito commands, as he expected the number of sentinels spawning has increased "More importantly, party A, we don't have enough tanks! Come here!" The sentinel attacks him "Shit! This is not good!"

Everyone's losing their spirit, they've been made aware that death here is a reality and the cost of this realization was their commander's life. Asuna looked at Kirito in front of her trying to block the monster Illfang. Kirito turned and smiled at her "Fencer-san, please.. Even if it's just you, get out of here!" The tears that Asuna had been holding back kept falling "Hurry!!!" Kirito shouted and run towards the monster Illfang so that Asuna would have a chance to escape. Kirito gives everything he can to each of his attacks "AHHHHHH!!!"

"Switch!!" Asuna sprint toward the monster and attack it, Kirito shocked "Don't try to act cool by yourself were partners right" They look at each other

"Ok.. I'm relying on you" Kirito said "Party B gets party C to the safe zone!"

"Ok..!" Agil said a member of party B

"Let's go Asuna!" Kirito blocked the attack of Illfang "Switch!!" Asuna sprint towards the monster and strike it. They did that over and over again. Asuna used her speed and attack Illfang

"Un.. Unbelievable" The players watching them were amazed "That girl.. She's not your ordinary player! Moreover that guy.. I can't believe he's canceling the entire Boss's swords skill"

"Amazing at this rate perhaps they can?.." The player had hope

"Idiot! We wouldn't have had any problems earlier if the damage quantity of linear was enough" Kibaou said "They're going to reach the limit first"

Kirito was hit by the monster's attack and he spat so Asuna turned to him but she didn't see that the monster was going to attack her. Fortunately, Agil protected her "I can't let the damage dealers do a tank's job. Go help him!" Asuna runs towards Kirito "Party B! Those with green Hp come!"

Asuna sprints towards Kirito " Ugh.." His Hp level was already in red she quickly gave him a health potion. He hadn't finished drinking the potion yet he forced himself to stand up which in turn surprised Asuna "Buwaa! Don't surround it! Or it will come with an attack in all directions! You don't need to clash with the enemies' skill either, just focus on the defense!"

"Roger!" Kirito is trying to stand up while Asuna supports him

"Oi shouldn't retreat for now?"

"But they're still fighting!" The other player said

"He just wants to take the last attack! Retreat, just retreat!" Kibaou tried to convince other players to retreat and left them "We don't need to associate with those greedy people"

"That's right! If they wanted to help then Diavel-san and other players wouldn't have died" Other players agreed to him

"If they want to die, just leave them to it!" Kibaou said

"Tell me one thing.. You're able to see the Boss's sword skill right?" Asuna asked Kirito but he didn't answer "I got it"

"I'd hate to die!"

"I don't want to die!"

"Yeah, I don't want to get involved!"

"Fencer-san?" Kirito looked at her as she stood up and remove her cloak

"Attention!!" Asuna shouted to get the attention of the players "Now! I'm going to convey, the knight Diavel last orders" Kirito looked at her with admiration "He said this, 'Defeat the Boss'" She succeeded in getting their attention "And one more thing—The next leader will be.." Asuna looked at Kirito "Him"

"What?!" You can see the shock on Kirito's face

"I heard it too!" Agil said "Moreover, he has knowledge of the Boss's skills" He turned slightly to them as he defied the attack of the monster Illfang "If you believe in Diavel then you should obey his orders!" He knew that the players admired Diavel a lot

"If that guy says that then.. You're right.. It can't be helped.. Let's give it a try" The players said. If they retreat the sacrifice of the dead players and Diavel will be wasted

"Well then, give us your orders.. Leader-san!" Asuna said to Kirito who is currently sitting on the ground looking at her

"HAHA.. What a reliable partner.." He said sarcastically

'Everyone will die eventually, the only difference is whether it's sooner or later' Kirito remembered the word Asuna said when they first met, for him, there is no way he could allow her to prove those words to be true. He must not take his eyes off her. If she survives this battle she'll surely become a swordswoman, more beautiful than anyone else. Kirito is sure that her name will roar out throughout aincrad. "I want to see it. No, I want to see it while by her side" Kirito was brought back to reality when the obstructers of the monster's attack collided

The tank couldn't take it anymore

"Damn it.. We.. have to.. Help them but.." Kibaou wants to help them but he is hesitant for fear of dying

"Fencer-san!!" Kirito run towards Asuna

"You! You haven't fully recovered yet!" kirito didn't listen to Asuna

"Come, Asuna! If we do it together we can defeat it!" Asuna was slightly dumbfounded this was the first time she had called him by her name

"Just a moment is enough! We just need to be a moment" They sprint faster and attack the monster but it also recovered quickly and looked at Asuna. The Hp level of the monster is dropped in red meaning just last one attack it will surely die

"Switch!.. What the hell are you looking at? Don't look at our princess" Kirito moved so fast that he brushed the katana of the monster "AHHHHHH!!!" When he got his chance he slash the monster, it's Hp level dropped until it become fragments.

All around fell silent and couldn't believe that they defeated the monster Illfang after a few seconds the battle result came out congratulating them for defeating the Boss "Yeahhhhh! We won!!"

"They.. Did it.." Kibaou couldn't believe they defeated the monster. Everyone's was happy because of their victory

"Why damn it?! Our leader is.. The person we should be giving our praise to was supposed to be Diavel-san!!" From the gathering players, there is one who spoke "But all people, why that guy?! That guy.. He's the one who let Diavel-san die and other players aren't he?!"

"Now that you mention it.. He knew all the Bosses' techniques right? Why he didn't inform Diavel-san?" One player asked

"That's right.. If Diabel-san knew about it then.. Why didn't he tell him?"

"The last attack bonus" There is a voice coming from the crowded "You didn't want Diavel-san to get the last attack, so you hid the information about the Boss's sword skills and let them die!" That man smiled "Right on the mark, isn't I? Beta-Tester-san!"

"Is that true? You were a Beta Tester?" They are all looking at Kirito "Because you wanted the last attack bonus.. You let Diavel-san and others die?"
