CHAPTER 27.1 - Quest's

"S-Sure.. But are you prepared, Kirito-Kun?" Asuna becomes more sweaty she's started panicking but she manages to hide it from Kirito

"Of course!" Kirito grabbed his new sword he was excited trying it

"I see, then let's go" They went inside the dungeon and went down the stairs' "This is the safety zone room?" This place has players who was resting and eating

"Rather, we're still within the area of this kingdom" Kirito pointed the top

"I see.." Asuna looks around "Everyone's here to collect relics, huh.."

"I guess so since they've mostly cleared the plaza, they must've come down to this ruins to further their collection" Kiriot started walking "Let's hurry up too" Asuna was checking the details of the quest that available in this dungeon, she was praying hoping that they can get the find the cat quest first "Here?" Asuna pointed to the narrow road that Kirito said

"Umm, y-yes.." Asuna need to remove her breastplate in order to pass through, sideways they entered the narrowed road "I told you before that the 1st floor of the underground area is a safe area" Now she understand why the safety area was on the first floor of the dungeon not outside is because it's really hard to pass this road so even monster can't enter there. When they crossed that road they had to crawl through a small tunnel

"Please go in first" Asuna pointed to the tunnel she was wearing a skirt

"Ok" They are now crawling in the tunnel "I'm sure everyone came here while following that information but.." Kirito stop

"Is there a problem?"

"If nothing had changed then it's fine.. Oh?" When they out from that tunnel they were greeted by an old room, it was an old chapel

"This.." Asuna started shaking again in fear "This is definitely not the quest to search for the lost kitty" Asuna look at Kirito "W-What quest is this?"

"Huh? You want spoilers now?" Kirito asks her without having any hint that Asuna was scared on the third quest

"Just tell me that much!" Asuna shouted

"All right, this is the Thirty-Year-Lament" Asuna become more sweaty and her knees started shaking, she is right "Strange sounds keep occurring at the NPC's home, tableware falling, so the NPC tried searching the catacombs but found nothing that's why the client wants us to find out the cause of it" Asuna look at her map there was a question mark on their location means there is a quest here "I'm sure if you look on the map you'll see that directly below the NPC's house is this chapel, this is where the weird vibrations are coming from"

"H-Hey according to the quest log…" Asuna pointed the information about the quest "The vibration occurs at 2 am in the morning right now it's still nine in the morning, so why don't we finish the cat searching quest first?" Asuna was hoping that Kirito will agree to her, she really wants to escape this place

"Oh? Have you've read the logs? But.. In just a few moments, the hits-" They heard a crack "Ah.. Look, it's here"

"T-The hint is c-coming?" Asuna was trembling to look at the side that Kirito pointing and she saw someone's foot it was walking toward them "I'm not scared if they're not ghost" Asuna hide on Kirito's back "They're.. Not?" They saw a child wearing a long hooded cloak and on its hand was a candle, it walks towards the altar and put the candle in front of it, while Asuna signed in relief "Thanks it's not a ghost, I'm fine with this" Asuna approach it "G-Good afternoon are you the one that replaces the candle here? Did you see anything strange at night?"

"I do not come here at night, I wake up in the morning and light up the candles" It started lightning the candle "I replenish the candles at noon at night, I blow them up and then head to bed"

"I see so the candles are lit from morning till night.." Asuna whispered and started thinking "Then the problem is this chapel would be in total darkness at 2 am" They followed a look to the NPC who was now leaving the chapel "Ah!" Asuna blows the candle "I'm sure this is the right answer, Kirito-Kun, extinguish the candles!" The whole chapel now started to become dark "Also, the lantern aren't you attentive" She look at Kirito he said that it's not him so she became confused "Then where the light does comes from?" She looks at the ground it was lighting "Below?" A hand appeared from the floor and a woman gradually emerged from there

"HOOOOO~~~!!" The ghost woman said

"Kyaaaahh!!" Asuna run towards Kirito and hugged him, she hide her head on his clothes

"Huh? Isn't it interesting? Like a haunted house?" Kirito said "Uhmm, Asuna?"

"Where is it now?" She was now crying because of fear

"Err, behind you?" He was looking at the ghost

"Do something! Chase it away right now!" Asuna tighten her hug to Kirito and started trembling knowing that the ghost was still there

"If we do that, we won't be able to proceed.." Kirito scratched his head

"Then hurry it!" Kirito gently pushed Asuna away to face the ghost, but Asuna doesn't let him go she grabbed his shirt, still, her eyes are close

"No! Don't leave me alone!"

"R-Roger.. Umm Yurei-San? Why do you act violently?" He asks the ghost

"I can't.. Get out here.."

"Why can't you?" Kirito ask

"I'm locked here.." The ghost touched Asuna's shoulder because of that she become more tremble and hugged Kirito even more

"Since when?" Kirito hugged Asuna so her fear will go away and make her feel secured

"Thirty years ago the guy made a promised with.." After telling the story to Kirito the whole chapel become dark and become silent

"Umm, Asuna?" Kirito tap her shoulder

"It went away?"

"Uhm, well for now.."

"It won't come out again?" Asuna look at Kirito her yes was still wet

"Umm for now.." Kirito wiped her tears "Umm I'm sorry, I didn't know you don't deal well with astral type beings"

"Astral?" Asuna left the embrace

"Those that don't have that much mass, and those ghosts are what we call astral, like ghouls, skeletons, or the living dead" Kirito explains

"I-I see.." Asuna was imagining those kinds of creatures "Err.. It was because she suddenly jumped out of nowhere!" Asuna tried to explain why she acted like that "Astral type is not one of my strong points"

"Okay.." Kirito looks at her like 'Really huh?'

"This is normal for girls, right?. That's way just forgetting about this!" Kirito raised his eyebrow "G-Ghost won't appear in the cat quest, right?" Asuna ask just to make sure

"Maybe a ghost cat will be shown up though?" Kirito laughing teasing her

"Harassment like those are prohibited" Asuna pouted

"Yes.." Kirito said, and Asuna saw something on the ground and picked it up and showed it to Kirito "A pendant? It's a key item for this quest, we need to appraise it to proceed" They continue the quest and find inside the dungeon the rare type of relic

"Shall we back to town?" Asuna asks after getting the relic

"Yeah, I want to make some progress on another quest too. Follow me for a bit.." They came out of the dungeon and started looking at the missing cat, and after that, they searched the whole Karluin and found the missing cat
