Chapter 7 - The Strangers

We took some pictures of the falls and begin to swim in the water again. We had a great time together. The sun is almost gone so we decided to catch some fish for dinner. We made a net made of our clothes and then tried to catch some fish.

"This will take us years!" Mavis groaned.

"Don't worry we will catch some," Psy said.

We made a bonfire at the side of the river. We decided to build a tent here. We transferred our things in here so that it will be no hassle for us to go back to our tent. As we patiently waited for our dinner. Mavis finally caught a fish.

"Finally! I caught one!" She exclaimed.

We just laughed, and build the tents. While I was organizing our things inside of the tent. I was shocked as I saw a shadow in front of me. I can't move my body because I was scared. It's a shadow of a man with a bolo. I glanced at my side and saw a flashlight. I glanced at the shadow and he was still there. I hurriedly grabbed the flashlight and point it at him but the place lightened. There was no one there. My heart beats so fast, I screamed when suddenly a hand poke my back.

"Hey! chill it's me," Luis said.

He looked at me with confusion.

"What happened to you? you looked like you just saw a ghost." He said.

"There's a man, he's holding a bolo," I said while pointing at the place where I saw the shadow.

"We are the only ones here lean, it's impossible." He said.

"I know but, I saw it. It was in front of me and he's holding a book!" I cried.

He hugged me while tapping my back.

I am so worried about what I saw. I don't know if I only hallucinating or if it is real.

"What happened?" Luke asked as he saw me crying.

"She said, she saw someone in the woods. A man holding a bolo." He explained.

"What?" Luke asked.

"Hmmm, maybe we should have a look at it tonight for just our safety," Luis suggested.

I wiped my tears off of my face and get up. As Mavis told us that the dinner was ready. As I was chewing my food. I glanced into the woods where I saw the shadow. I got stilled as I saw 5 pairs of eyes looking in our place. I suddenly stand and got out of balance. They were shocked as I fell to the ground.

"What happened to you lean?" Luke asked.

I pointed to the people who were standing in the woods. They hurriedly grabbed something to protect us. Jake grabbed me and grabbed his gun on his back.

Luis turned the flashlight on and points it at them. They were just standing there for almost 5 minutes.

"Who the hell are they?" Psy whispered.

"I don't know I'm so scared." Mavis hugged Abbie's arm.

"Shh! We have to be brave. We are in the woods, we should be alert if they gonna attack us we have to defend ourselves." Jake said.

I just nodded. I grabbed my pocket knife by my side. Luis suddenly stepped back as well as the boys. As the strangers stepped forward toward us.

"Who are you?" Asked Jake.

As he pointed his gun at them. They stop looking at each other.

"What the hell they are saying?" Abbie asked.

"I don't know," I said.

"We don't have any bad intentions for all of you." the man said.

"We just want you all to leave our territory." said the woman on the left.

"We don't know that this is someone's territory." Luis said.

"We are very sorry if we are intruding on your territory." Psy apologized to them.

They were about to say something when I suddenly cut them off.

"Excuse me, can we just stay here, for just this night? It's so dark and we can't travel at night." I asked.

"We want you all gone as the sun rises in the morning." The man ordered.

"Thank you for allowing us to stay here for just this night," Luis said.

"Just be careful. We will not bother anymore."

As the man said that they left as if nothing happened.

That made us relieved. As I no longer sight them. I sat down on the ground and held my chest. I think my heart was about to explode. I glanced at Jake as he grabbed his bag and pull out some guns and handed it to the boys.

"You girls rest. we'll guard you." Luke said.

"Are you sure, that they will not us?" Abbie asked.

"I guess? but we have to be alert. That is why we will stay up and guard you all." Luke said as he packed some things.

We stayed in our tent while the boys are at outside guarding us. Psy and Abbie were already asleep while I and Mavis are still awake.

"I hope that there's nothing bad will happen to us," Mavis said as she hugged me.

"Don't worry we'll be fine. The boys will protect us ok?" I said while rubbing her back.

I was humming a song and it made Mavis fall asleep. I flinched as Jake opened our tent and checked us.

"Why are you still awake?" He asked.

"I just can't sleep in a situation like this," I explained and I sat down.

"Don't worry we'll be fine." He said and held my hand.

"I am scared, what if there is something bad that will happen to us? Like what the old lady said?" I cried.

"Shhh, That's not gonna happen as long as I am here. I will do my best to protect them and you." He said as he cupped my face.

I just stared at his eyes as well as he is to mine. We stared into each other's eyes, for almost two minutes. I swallowed my saliva as he stared down at my lips. He moves his face towards me I just closed my eyes and waited for his lips to touch mine. As we were about to kiss Luis suddenly get into the tent. Because of nervousness, I pushed Jake away from me. He looked at me with confusion as he groaned and rubbed his butt.

"Ehem? what are you guys doing?" Luis asked.

"Nothing! Jake just blowing the dirt in my eye so that you know. Right, Jake? I explained and looked at Jake.

"Yeah." He said coldly and get out of the tent.

"Hmmm, ok. You said that." Luis said and winked at me then followed Jake.

I just let a deep breath and lay down.

"Geez! our lips almost touch!" I said in my mind.

I can't help to smile at what just happened. I hope that everything will be fine tomorrow as we wake up. I closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep.
