Awakening (2)

In a tiny apartment in the Commoner's Region of Camelot Kingdom, Allan was forced awake by the terrible stench his dingy apartment was emitting.

"Huh... what the..."

Looking around in a daze, he was stunned to find the entire floor of his apartment covered in some sort of thick black smelling liquid. Hell, even his clothes and the couch he was lying on were completely drenched and smelly.

"What crap is this. Is this someone's idea of a joke"

"Well that crap came from your body son. If anything you should be blaming yourself for being so full of rubbish."

Not expecting the question he muttered subconsciously to be answered and even to be ridiculed at that, Allan was once again stunned to find a silver haired old man sitting comfortably in his apartment smiling at him with bright eyes. What was even more annoying, to Allan at least, was that the old man wasn't covered in the black goo.

He wore a set of white robes making him seem like some sort of transcendent immortal that had descended into this world.

Weirdly enough, Allan felt a sense of familiarity looking at this old man though he could swear he had never met him in his life.

"You are...."

"Instead of wondering unnecessarily about who I am, how about you tell me how you're feeling"

Confused at the old man's response, Allan couldn't help but stare at him strangely wondering whether he had gone senile. After all what sort of answer was that and how did his body condition concern this old man. But just as he was about to rebuke him, he realized something weird. He was feeling normal. That was it, he felt normal. This might sound weird to some people as feeling normal was..... normal, but for someone like Allan who had been experiencing various degrees of heart pains ever since he knew how to feel pain, feeling normal was definitely abnormal.

"What's happened to me, how come I feel so normal."

Clutching his chest thoughtfully, he muttered under his breath

"I don't feel any pain at all"

"Over a hundred years of research and all you can tell me is you feel normal, not bad kid"

However Allan did not seem to have heard the old man's sarcastic remarks because the next moment he jumped from the the couch clutching his chest in fright

"No heartbeat...how come I can't feel my heartbeat"

His face had gone completely pale clearly indicating how scared he was at that moment. The old man on the other hand didn't seem surprised in the least. Rather he had a thoughtful look on his face.

"Well considering the fact that you don't have a heart to begin with shouldn't that be normal"

"I don't have a what...are you crazy.... how can someone live without a heart.....who are you and what are you even doing in my house"

Enraged by the old man's seemingly ridiculous response,. Allan went beserk and in his fright, he yelled at him. The latter however patiently waited until the youth had was done before pointing at the mess on the floor and on his clothes and skin

"You see this. Part of it is your heart an the rest are all your other internal organs."

Now Allan was absolutely certain this man was mad.
