Chapter 19

The village people !

They soon entered into the Forsaken land . The land was filled with yellow sand and the temperature was still hot . Even through it was evening the group still felt that the temperature is here higher than the outside . There was no pathway or direction but endless yellow sand which made the group difficulty to know which direction they could move on to.

After some discussion with Sarah , Aaron decided to use a blind method which is to directly go straight until we found something or people to know the manor of the Duke .

The group started to travel ina a straight way while at some point they would find dumped garbages and wastes . They even found some dead bodies where vultures feasted on them . Aaron took a arrowhead which was in fire and shot at the corpses .

Even through they were all strangers but seeing the dead bodies gets eaten by the beasts made him disgusted . So he burnde the corpses on the way but to his astonishment there were even skulls and bones piled up which made him shiver .

"What kind of people are living in this land?"

Aaron immediately felt disgusted about this lawless behaviour . He decided to change everything from now on after he controls some regions .

This was just a fleeting scenrey so the group traveled in quick pace until few hours later did they found a Village. Luckily they had carriage and horses which shortened the time taken to travel . Otherwise they have to travel a whole day to find this village.

The village was consist of little more than 100 houses and surrounded them was a worden fence with sharp thrones and worden boards which looked like a wall.

The group didn't hesitate to go towards the village which alarmed the village head and his people . They directly went towards Aaron knights while holding sticks and bows looking warily at them .

Sarah came infront of the village head who was a old man holding a stick and looking at them in fear and caution .

She directly said in cold tone

"Are you the village head here?"

The village people all had tensed faces and the village head said with shaky tone

"Y-yes M-My lord I'm the village head here .May I ask what can I do for you?"

Even through the old man was close to death door and his eyesight are poor .He immediately recognised the Royal symbol from their flags and seeing the shinning armour, The village head immediately guessed that these people are all from Royal family and they must be here for some purposes. So he slowly relaxed but his tension filled face and fear could be still seen .

Confirming that he was indeed the village head . Sarah said slowly while carefully observing the old man reaction

"Good. Now answer me which direction is the Duke manor located?"

The village head paused slightly and immediately started to say in excited tone

"My lord are you the new Duke of this land?"

All the villages had hopeful and excitement hearing the old man questions . Sarah even saw some women shed tears , This made her feel that this villages had some troubles which why they were excited to see that they are fe royal family.

'Maybe they thought that we can solve their problems'

Sarah said with smile

"Yes we are indeed from royal family and the new Duke is inside the carriage."

All the people suddenly burst in tears while some people even said loudly in joy

"We are saved "

"Yes finally the god opened his eyes to us "

"Quick the Duke is here. Let's all greet the new Duke"

All the villagers kneeled down while saying loudly in hope and excitement

"We greet the lord Duke of Forsaken land".

Hearing their loud voice Aaron came outside the carriage with a cold face . He directly came towards the old man who was currently struggling to kneel down . He immediately held the old man and helped him to rise up while saying with smile

"God gave us knees to stand up not to kneel remember it" .

Hearing this the old man eyes become red and said with heavy tone

"Yes! Y-Yes We must not kneel..."

All the villagers now started to look at the group clearly and seeing the muscular female Knights many man lowered their head in defeat while some people become fearful seeing the white tiger .

Aaron said to the Village head

"Hmm ..Old man we are decided to spend a night in your village! Show me the way."

Hearing this all the villagers even become excited which made Aaron confused but he didn't bother about it .

The old man immediately nodded his head quickly and said

"Yes My lord you can stay here as long as you want . Follow me to my humble village ,lord."

Aaron and his group entered the village which was quite clean unlike outside . There was even lamps hanged at each house which resulted in clear sight at night time.

The atmosphere here was warm and cosy but he felt that addition to that every villagers had tensed and excited face which puzzled him .

The village head wanted to arrange houses for them to live but Aaron refused and told the people to set up tents. The village head wanted to invite them to lunch but Aaron refused and said

"We have our own foods"

The old man nodded and left them while the female knight started to arrange tent . The slaves had a wooden cage which they were placed . The wooden cage was long enough for them so all of them were locked inside there but none of them had any expression but instead they all looked down and some in absent minded .

Sarah came infront of Aaron and said slowly

"My lord this village expression is quite starnge"

Aaron was leaning against the tree while watching the moon . He didn't look at her but instead he said casually

"Why do you think so ?"

Sarah hesitated for a while but still said

"They had fearful and excitement which makes normal since they never close to the Royalty before but why were they showing hopeful expression.....like they hoped that we can do something they Wanted to do?"

Aaron now slowly turned to her and said with amusement

"You are half correct and half wrong" .

Sarah eyes widened and said with doubt

"How? I didn't say anything wrong did I?"

Aaron simply chuckled seeing her face and he opened his mouth to talk !
