On a random day of his journey, somewhere in the forest of China, with his eyes full of sadness, as gloomy as the night can be with the moon being the only source of life in the darkness. He let his hand do its magic. Painting the memories left in his heart, he heard a frightened voice of a child. His grip on the brush tightened as he remembers his hatred towards a human. His veins started to show traces on his skin highlighted by the moonlight as his anger rises. He transforms into a furry creature and runs to find the voice thinking of how he will end its life.
AWOOOOOH!!!
The sound echoes in the peaceful night. Rushing with the speed of light, the luminous picture of a child from afar started to form. His four legs hurdling every obstacle in his way. His sharp vision catches the face of a child crying in fear. The pair of eyes that shine brightly with fear feels familiar. Unconsciously, he stormed to the wild bear and bury his fangs on its neck. His temperament once more become his weakness. The bear left a scratch on his leg that causes him to fall upon walking away from the child.
Being confused about what he did, he gained consciousness and realizes his situation; a wounded werewolf can't go back to its human form.
As he tries to lift himself, the cold wind that brushes the skin under his fur was changed by an unknown warmth yet feels so familiar. It was the first touch that he got from a human.
He tried to resist the sensation but the grip of the child's arms seem to neutralize his strength.
"Sorry.. you got hurt because of me."
The words of the child echoes in his ears. For the second time in his life, he is useless.
He can't do anything to escape.
He is bigger than the kid but still managed to carry him to the grass.
"Thank you for saving me from that bad bear. You're my hero, Doggy!"
He felt offended for being called a lowlife creature but he is only a child who doesn't know the difference between a dog and a wolf.
He was taken aback to his senses when he felt the warmth travels from his nose up to his head. The kid is petting the most powerful werewolf.
"Don't worry, Doggy. I will heal your wound. Oh, wait my bag!"
The kid started to roam his eyes in the wilderness without any trace of fear and ran to find his bag. He tried to take advantage of the time to escape but it's like his will had its own life. Refusing to take any action. He watches the kid run back to him catching his breath, carrying the bag on his back.
"I found it! It will heal your wound a little and when I grow up, I'll become a doctor so I can heal all your wounds, okay?"
He exclaimed with his eyes full of hope for his future.
The kid started to rummage inside his bag and put out a roll of bandage and a tube of ointment. Before putting the ointment, the kid wipes off the blood with a piece of cloth from the roll of bandage.
Aruuuuh!
He cried in pain.
Then the child put some ointment on the wound.
"When I am grown up, this won't hurt anymore, Doggy!"
In his mind, it was a mistake to save this little human. He never wasted his time meddling in human affairs. Either he'll kill them or leave them in danger, helpless.
But to his surprise, he saved a human for the first time.
"Look! That bear is really bad."
The kid pointed his wounded knee. It was another surprise when he witnessed the next thing the kid did.
You are my hero now, and I'm your doctor when I grow up okay?.
The kid said after wiping his wound with the same cloth he used to wipe the blood off of his wound.
PACT?!
Did he just force him to agree on a pact? Out of anger, he gritted his teeth but everything about him seems amusing to the kid.
He needs to burn it to nullify the pact.
I will wrap this on your wound. Mom said when I get cuts, I need to cover them to heal faster, so you can walk soon.
It was a relief to him that he doesn't need to put extra effort into getting the cloth of pact from the kid.
The night become colder but with the warmth of each other, lying on the grass, they were spared and had slept comfortably. They were sleeping soundly when he heard the footsteps approaching and voices calling out a name in the darkness as the lights flashed and penetrates the spaces between the trees in the forest.
"CLOUD! CLOUD! CLOUD!"
The unconscious sound of the kid resisting from being awake from the noise echoing stops him from leaving but he had no choice so he shifts back to a man form making sure the kid won't get awake with his head resting on his lap.
Confused, he looks at his leg, with no trace of a wound, thinks about how did it happen before his eyes.
"CLOUD!"
A voice of a worried woman echoes.
He rushes like a wind away from the kid.
"M-Mom. D-Doggy?"
The kid rubs his eyes as he searches for the voices in the dark and his fur hero that has gone missing from his sight. Only the cloth with their blood is left and the lifeless bear.
"Cloud, oh my god! Where have you been, baby?!"
The lady in his mid-30s runs to him.
"Mom! I was saved by a big dog. We've slept together!"
The kid marches forward to hug her mother in amusement holding the cloth.
"Don't do this again. You don't know how worried I am."
The kid was carried as he tries to look back to search for the wolf.
"Mom, can I bring him home?"
He asked realizing the thoughts of not seeing the wolf again. Helpless, he buries his face on the shoulder of her mother sobbing from the sadness of reality.
His eyes follow the shadow of the kid vanishing in the darkness. He can only watch them walk away with the cloth that makes him furious. The idea of being stuck in this country can't happen. He cannot afford to waste his time because of the damn pact. He has to find his heart.
He walks in the light of the moon when humans completely fade out. Without any piece of cloth, his chiseled body illuminates as he walks towards the bear. The scent of blood brings back his lost appetite. He went directly for the heart of the bear. Somehow, it could hardly satisfy him. He likes it when the heart stops beating inside his mouth. Tearing into bits with his sharp fangs.
After contemplating till the sun rises, he decided to get the cloth from the kid. Uninvited, he barged inside the peaceful household of a family living in the middle of the forest far from the fast-paced civilization. He took an oversized worn-out t-shirt and a farmer's faded trouser and left without any trace.
He has no idea where to find the child. But his instinct works like a radar. It is common for werewolves to feel their companion's presence whenever they are in danger once they are in a pact.
For the longest time, he refuses to get involved with humankind. He will never forget how his kind used them to manipulate him and fall into their trap.
100 Millenniums ago...
AWOOOOOH!!!
The pack of werewolves is scouting to find a good meal.
"I can smell something delicious."
The scent of a human got the attention of the pack. They started to search for a good host of their meal like in a race.
"Sky, you won't dare miss this chance while she's away. She won't let you get a good meal."
One of the wolves stopped and look back when he noticed that he is not excited to run with them and stay still.
The laughter breaks out as the pack makes fun of him.
"I don't like a human."
Sky said as he remembers her saying.
"Human brings no good but danger. We can live without them."
"Come on, Sky! You are the strongest werewolf! Don't tell us, you are afraid of them?"
The pack keeps on pushing his will to go with them.
"Haha. Our Alpha fears humans, what a joke!"
Another wolf tries to trigger the nature of a werewolf, to become a creature in the dark.
"I don't fear danger, Hailey. I'm an Alpha. No werewolf or human can kill me."
The confidence of Alpha is incomparable while they watch a man from afar, sharing on their prey.
"Listen to me, Sky. You should live to protect our kind from the danger out there. Killing humans will only make our world small. We must protect our freedom, Sky. We should keep our parallel world with humans."
His face frowns as she drags him away from the boar. He did not protest. She always wins their fight.
"Now, what do we eat?"
Still sad from losing his favorite meal, his eyes search around for new prey.
"Look, quick! The one who gets it, eat it."
In a surprise, he runs towards the bothered dear who started running after hearing Hailey's footsteps.
"Tsk. Cheater!"
She lifted an eyebrow at him when she saw him at the same pace and smiled as she took kilometers ahead of him.
Alpha smiled happily as he watches her take the lead of their hunting that turns into a competition. The thoughts of him having her by his side, hunting together, living endlessly as the most powerful Alpha and Omega of their race, makes him hopeful for their future.
In a blink of an eye, they caught the dear together and they roll with it. They are covered with dirt while holding the poor dear on its neck. As if a trophy, they raise it on air, giggling together.
"Alpha won't lose his prey."
Boasting his skill, he tapped his chest proudly in front of her.
"Omega won't fear Alpha."
With her chin raised high, she vows not to be left behind by this powerful werewolf on her side in her mind. She should accompany him through his happiest and hardest time.
"Alpha should be feared by everyone, Sky. If you show weakness, you will die."
The werewolves left him standing alone and rush to the location of the scent.
The last phrase echoes in his mind. He can't die. He should live to protect her. If a human becomes his weakness, he can't face his pack. They won't look up to him.
He ran into madness while being consumed by the thoughts of being weak.
In no time, they reached the human. Lying on the ground full of blood.
"We give you the pleasure, Sky. Don't fail us. You can't protect our pack if you fear humans."
He aggressively pulled him and imposes his superiority on his pack.
"I will not fear humans. You will fear me!"
He dominantly throws a glare at each of the wolves looking at him and fear starts to sketch on their faces. As if commanding everyone, every step he takes towards the human makes the werewolves move aside. Then he rushed to the human angrily.
Everyone changes their expression as the Alpha tries to kill the human. Their act paid off. They got the most powerful werewolf fell to their trap.
Unguarded, the Alpha was manipulated to fall for the trap. The human was pretending and waiting for the right moment to attack him.
"Sky!"
It was so fast that he doesn't know what happened. His Omega stands in front of him with no distance that parts them from each other.
"H-Hailey"
It was so sudden that he is confused why she was bleeding in front of him.
"Don't ever do that again, Sky."
Alpha trembles as his Omega starts to lose her life. He caught her when she was about to fall. Holding her arms, preventing her to fall, he saw her heart stabbed by a sharp weapon. Tears start to run down his cheeks.
"W-What d-did y-you d-do, H-Hailey?"
Alpha watches her catch her breath, trying to say everything she hasn't told him.
"I can't stay by your side anymore, Sky. You have to protect yourself from now on."
"N-No, H-Hailey. D-Don't l-leave m-me."
Alpha pleads to her but there is no way her heart can survive the betrayal of his pack.
"I'll stay in your heart, Sky. Don't let your heart fill with so much hate. I-I might suffocate inside."
Sadness is written in Omega's face as she bids goodbye to him. She thinks, somehow, her life is fulfilled for sacrificing her life to save the life of the werewolf she can live with for thousands of years.
Alpha is left shaking. Unable to utter anything.
"I l-love you, Sky. Until we meet a-again."
Omega slowly burns as her ashes are carried by the wind.
"M-Monsters!"
The human ran away with fear from what he saw.
Alpha was taken aback after he saw the face of his Omega turn to ashes. Anger rose inside him. White fur starts to grow slowly from his skin.
"N-Noooooo!!! H-Haileyyyyy!!!
AWOOOOOOH
The pack started to make noises in celebration of the complete half of their plan. Everyone turns into their true forms, Werewolves. Their black and gray furs grow as they completely become a creature in the dark.
AWOOOOOOH
But as soon as a white-furred werewolf shows up in their very eyes. The wind blows like he is in command. He cried in pain as he lost his reason to live. He tries to sniff the scent of his Omega but it is nowhere to be found. He is broken.
The werewolves started attacking him. Anyone who gets to him is being thrown like an empty can. The pack gritted their teeth in pain. Without fear, another werewolf rushed to him and met his bad day. Alpha jumped to him and the lowlife was caught by his claw on its neck, preventing him to make any move. Its eyes were filled with fear.
Alpha's eyes are burning with hatred. He looks around to show his dominance. Having no hesitation, he ripped off its head with his fangs and crushed its heart with his claw. His white fur is stained with blood.
AWOOOOOOOH!
The leader of the betraying pack commands them to attack the Alpha. Unnoticed, the moon was covered by a thick cloud. The moonlight is gone.
Werewolves are immensely weakened without the presence of the moon. But Alpha is not affected by the moon. He remains powerful despite the circumstances.
The pack is trying to target Alpha's heart but with no success. His speed is ten times faster than them. Their weakened strengths are no match to him.
His wounds are self-healing faster than usual because of the great anger he feels. Scratches of their sharp claws do not hinder him from deflecting and attacking.
Every werewolf that tries to attack him falls and vanishes as they turn into ashes until no one is left but his strong presence.
AWOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!
Alpha's white and pure fur was tainted by the pack's blood. As the moon shows up and slowly turns to red as if the moon is with him while getting the curse of life; living with regrets, sad and alone.
"They are not human. They are monsters"
The human hides himself, scared of what he witnessed. Those guys who threatened him to stage the act deceived him.
The changes in the color of the moon give the forest the vibe of Alpha's grievance. It makes the human terrified. He wanted to flee but there is no way he can run from an Alpha's wrath.
Furious, Alpha shows up in front of him. Walking around the human, Alpha gritted his teeth scaring the human at front. Sniffing the human's scent, Alpha's hatred grows even more as his scent marks in his mind.
He will never give humans the chance to exist in the same world he is living in.
The thoughts of Alpha turn into reality as he devours the heart of the petrified human. A white-furred werewolf turns into a red-blooded-werewolf as he goes on a rampage and throws the ripped body of man everywhere.
As he was taken back from his senses, he saw his self in the middle of a place where humankind feels no danger and walks freely.
He is not used to the presence of people around him so he is bumped by a person after another.
"Dude, watch out!"
"Tss. Stupid!"
"Goodness, he stinks!"
His expression turns from dreamy to irritated from the contacts he is getting from these lowlife humans.
"Damn! What am I doing here?!"
At the back of his mind, he is so eager to get back to that child who forced him into a pact. He wants to rip his heart out.
Cloud
The name that keeps on echoing in his mind. One hundred thousand years had passed but here he is, stuck or should he say controlled by a human because of a useless pact.
He is in the broad daylight and doesn't know where to go until he heard an unusual sound. He searches around to find the voice but he doesn't see a child with fear. Yes, he hears a voice of a child crying and terrified. Moving like the wind before the eyes of humans, he searches every child around him.
It was a voice of a familiar sound. He tries to think about whose voice it is but he never had any contact with a human.
Except for Cloud! Except him!
Out of his mind, he unconsciously voices out his thoughts.
Crazy!
People that pass him can't help but express their pity.
The voice in his mind creates more sound. His ears hurt like hell. He wants to get him out of his head but it just keeps on pestering him.
With his hands on his ears trying to stop the sound, he stepped backward and his voice mumbling toned down. As he takes another step backward his voice slowly fades off. Until he hears nothing, he took another step.
The fvck is wrong with me?
He was relieved when it completely disappears in his head.
It's a big mistake to kill that bear. I should have let him die. You are a big fool, Sky.
"Move!"
Alpha was preoccupied when he got bumped by a human who didn't even pay him a glance and continued to run like someone is chasing him.
Darn it! Why can't I get you out of my head!
After involuntarily taking a step forward because of the human who bumped into him, the voice of the kid resounds again in his ears. This time, it is not a mumbling voice, it is a voice crying and pleading to someone.
Realizing how the voice faded in his head, he runs in madness and the voice becomes clearer as he gets near to him with some thoughts running in his mind.
"I did not save you just to fall onto the hands of lowlife humans."
He is the only person who can end his life. This is the idea that was formed in his head while tracking the kid.
"How many times should I tell you not to waste my time! You stupid kid!"
From afar, he saw him lying on the ground, crying while a man stroked a piece of long thin wood at him.
"They called me crazy when I told them about doggy. They hit me when I told them doggy was real. I-I did not fight back but they keep on punching me, Dad."
"You are not my child, you piece of shxt!"
The child is helpless. He can only endure the pain of his stepfather's madness. His stepfather received a call from his school about the fight that happened. His bullies claimed that he started the fight and everyone was mad at him.
Watching from the side, Alpha's anger rises. He picked up a stone on the ground and threw it at the tree where the man is beside. Not sure how much force he put on his throw, he ran and swayed the child not to get hit by the falling branch. The man was hit and the child was surprised at what happened. No one notice what he did.
"Ackk. Help me you, idiot!"
The child never put his suffering to his heart. Without hesitations, he tries to lift the branch that fell on the leg of his stepfather. But he is of no help. It is heavy for him to move the wood full of leaves.
"I'm s-sorry, D-Dad. I can't move it."
"Useless! Get out of my sight!"
"I will ask for help, Dad."
Alpha pretended to pass by.
"A-Ahm, Mister can you help my dad? P-Please, I can't help him."
The face of the child seems worried. His eyes are puffed from crying and has a scratch on his cheek. Bruises are everywhere.
Alpha lifted the wood, pretending like a human.
"You bring no luck!"
His stepfather pushed him aside after regaining his feet. His left leg is injured and makes it hard for him to take a step.
The child watches him walk inside their house.
"You alright?"
The child noticed the presence of Alpha when he was unable to stop himself to check upon him.
"A-Ahm, I'm fine Mister. T-Thank you for helping my dad."
The way the kid looks up to him moves something inside him. He can't tell what it is. He can only think of the pact.
The child rushed to him with a big smile that shows his white teeth and hugs his leg. Alpha was surprised. No one has ever given him a hug on his leg. It was only her.
Flashback..
"What are you doing, Hailey?"
"Bring me to that place please."
"I won't and my answer won't change, Hailey. I won't but that trick."
"Please, Sky? I want to see it. How is that you saw it and I did not."
Omega's grip on his leg tightens as she pleads to bring her to the place made by humans. She can't help but dream of the place he once told her. Alpha accidentally got lost in the city. While trying to avoid the human, he did not notice that he reached a garden.
It was full of life. Different kinds of flowers are blooming. There was a pond with a school of fish of different colors. Birds were resting on the trees. Butterflies land on flower after another. The moment his eyes laid in the garden; she immediately went on his mind. His Omega loves nature full of lives.
He went back to share it with her. His eyes were full of excitement as he describes what the garden looks like. This happiness in his eyes is a treasure for her. She wants to see how beautiful that garden is that gives him so much joy.
"Can you hear yourself, Hailey? They are human! Since when did you want to associate yourself with them?!"
"Now! You cheated on me, Sky! You said that you will always bring me with you."
"Did I say that?"
"You lying cheater!"
Alpha can't understand the change of mood in her.
"W-What did I lie about? W-When did I cheat on you?"
"I don't want to talk to you, Sky. I'll go by myself."
Omega let go of his leg, frowning. Alpha is confused about how fast can her mood change from excited to an accusive wolf to a manipulative mad lover.
"Fine! I'll bring you there. But you will not stop me if I have to kill a human."
"And why the hell do you need to kill?"
"Because that is my rule to bring you there."
Omega did not respond. She looks at him like she's tracing every part of his face.
"Whatever. It's a deal then."
In excitement, she rushed to him and gave him a huge and tight hug.
Alpha can only pat her head as profound temperament takes over with his heart.
When he was taken aback, he saw himself patting the head of the child. His heart pounds with no understanding of how he feels.
