Hadn't She Been Through Enough?

Ava was simultaneously glad her friends found her and annoyed at their terrible timing. Ian had just been about to tell her what the curse entailed, which was something he withheld from the other two. He probably wouldn't say anything now that they were here.

"Guys, I'm fine," she insisted even though she still couldn't move. "I just threw up everything in my stomach because I thought I was going to die."

Kael, who was hovering over her like a worried gnat, shot a glare at Zeldris. "I told you it was a bad idea!"

"Yeah but you also let me do it," he pointed out as he turned off the lightshow coming from his hands. "You sure you're okay, Ava? You look awful."

She snorted. Always keeping it real, wasn't he?

"Thanks," she said sarcastically. "Kael, do you think you could help me sit up? Lying here like this isn't comfortable."

"Of course, my lady."
