You Deserve It

"Zel, I'm really fine. You don't have to do this," Ava pointed out. 

Zeldris vehemently shook his head as he set her down on her bed. "Yes I do. You nearly fainted just now. You think I don't recognize the signs of you feeling sick by now?"

She sighed. These three fussed way, way too much. She supposed, technically speaking, it was their job to protect her from all harm but still…That was how she ended up getting hugged on a regular basis for the first time in years. 

"It's not that big a deal; all I did was eat too much!" 

"That's such a human problem. You guys are…a lot weaker than I anticipated. How did you even survive before we got here?" 

Ava laughed then immediately winced because that made her stomach hurt worse. How indeed. 

She had lived a normal, if unfulfilling, life without managing to get into any major accidents. She never got seriously sick or injured and dealt with the minor ones that were a part of life on her own.
