You'll Understand When You're Older

Zeldris didn't like anything about this. He recalled both what Ava said ages ago about finding herself a rich husband and what Kael said about how she needed to be around other humans.

She was rich now thanks to the fairy (living off of his money was difficult to swallow but Zeldris couldn't work a job of his own when she needed his help with her animal rescue) so she didn't need a rich husband but that didn't necessarily mean she didn't want a husband period. That was a very human thing.

But why? Why would she even want that? Wasn't he enough?

He had already adapted to plenty of human customs. He could do whatever she wanted him to as long as he didn't have to share her with anyone else. Sharing with Ginzi was already bad enough.

Zeldris told himself not to overreact. Just because it had looked like a date didn't mean it was one.
