Starbright Is Different

Starbright pulled a small first-aid kit out of the pouch on her hip and began fussing over Fletcher. "You really shouldn't be out here. I have no idea what Dusk is thinking! I'm so sorry. I wouldn't have fought you if I knew. Does it hurt?"

"Yeah. But why are you helping me? I'm a henchman."

"You're a kid first."

Fletcher's heart had skipped a beat. No one had ever told him that before. He had been training to be a henchman since he was six. He never had the chance to be a kid.

All he could do was stare at her as she cleaned up his wound and bandaged it. She smiled at him when she was done and he saw that her eyes were orange. Just like her powers. He had never seen eyes like that.

"That should hold for now until you can get better treatment. I really am sorry. I wish I could do more for you but I don't have anywhere else for you to go. Stay safe, okay?" Starbright told him a bit wistfully.
