You Didn't Know Better

Damien slung an arm over the Maisie's shoulders and began steering her toward the stairs. "Weren't you just saying how tired you were, Maisie? It's been a long day. You should go take a nap."

He heaved an internal sigh of relief when she went along with it, realizing what he was getting at. She even dramatically faked a yawn. "You're right; I'm dead on my feet. I'll introduce myself properly once I've had a nap. Which one's your room?"

"…I'll take you there."

Danielle and Simon were both looking at him in disbelief. They had seen her eyes. They knew he had brought a witch here.

Damien set her down in there and sighed. "You can't tell Delia what you know. She doesn't have her memories right now and thinks she's human."

"Then why is she with Simon?" Maisie asked in confusion.
