Rescue (2)

After eating the crystal, Ivan braced himself for a crazy amount of pain. Shortly after eating it, he finally felt an incredibly painful sting in his heart. He felt like it was going to burst. When the pain subsided a little, his body started burning up and aching. He felt like his bones were going to break.

Trying to make as little amount of noise as possible, he bit the inside of his lips to the point of him drawing blood, he clenched his butt cheeks, and started tearing up.

While Ivan was going through that, Johnathan and Daniel were looking out for any zombies. Luckily Ivan was quietly whimpering and not making too much noise. In the middle of a conversation with Daniel, Johnathan felt the boy on his back move.

"We-"

"What's going on. Where's mom"

Seeing that the boy woke up, Johnathan put him down from his back and pointed at the woman's dead body. The boy looked where Johnathan pointed and immediately fell to the ground sobbing. Before he could yell out Johnathan warned him that zombies were still near them.

"B-But why did this have to happen to mom" The boy asked with tears in eyes.

Johnathan sighed as he patted the boys head. He couldn't answer the boys question. He didn't know why any of this happened. One minute he was in class, only having to worry about his math test. The next minute he had to worry about surviving man eating monsters. His world was turned upside down in the matter of an hour.

"I don't know kid. We probably all lost someone to this disaster, we just don't know it. Stay strong and do your best to survive"

Johnathan had finally thought of what to say to the boy. A second later Daniel walked up to the two of them and joined in on the conversation.

"Yeah, its an apocalypse. We never know what's going to happen. You're mom may have died but she's still with you"

Daniel said as he pointed to the kids heart before continuing.

"Right here. She'll always watch over you"

The boy then teared up but didn't let out a sound. He was strong. Stronger than what Johnathan thought he would be like if he saw his mothers corpse.

"What's your name"

"Ash"

The boy answered Johnathan and before they could continue to talk they heard something behind them.

"haah"

Hearing the heavy breaths the three turned towards Ivan who had finally sit up. Before long, he started to laugh in joy. He felt way stronger than before. Not only that but lighter as well.

"It feels good right"

Hearing Johnathan's question Ivan raised his head and smiled. Of course it felt good. Who doesn't like the feeling of improvement. Especially when it could save your life. "Feels amazing" Ivan said before getting up and stretching his arms.

"Okay, now that were done with that, lets keep going"

Once Daniel finished speaking they continued to make their way towards Johnathan's brother. Along the way, Daniel gave the little boy some water and a cookie he got form the cafeteria. After walking for two more minutes they had finally reached the end of the neighbor hood and stood before the bridge that connected to where Johnathan's house was.

Looking at the other side of the bridge, the four boys could see an incredible amount of zombies. Some were aimlessly walking around and others were gruesomely chewing on human body parts. The boys shook with fear. They couldn't pass through that and they knew it. Though, if they did walk through their original path they would get to the school faster. If they did do that, they would most definitely die. How would they survive when there were more than what seemed to be a hundred zombies aimlessly walking around the area.

Johnathan grinded his teeth in anger before calming down. He looked to the others and finally spoke.

"Lets take another way before they notice us"

The other quickly agreed but Daniel pointed out that there was no other place to go from. Johnathan looked around for a second before pointing overt he ledge. The others looked over and saw that there were train tracks.

"How are we gonna get down there. That's too high up to jump down to".

Johnathan laughed at Daniels comment. It was funny, since Johnathan some how had a good feeling that jumping down was nothing for his new found power.

"What are you laughing at"

Daniel exclaimed but quickly covering his mouth soon after realizing that he yelled that. The others then looked at Daniel like he was an idiot.

""Grrr""

The fours peripheral vision caught a horde of zombies moving their way. Johnathan and Ivan cursed before moving.

"Ivan"

"On it"

The two enhanced boys then grabbed a person and jumped down onto the tracks.

"ahh"

Daniel screamed as they hit the ground. The two then put the other two down before they started bolting forwards.

Running as fast as they could, the two enhanced boys quickly noticed that they would not be able to get too far if the other two were this slow. Going back to the others, Ivan and Johnathan picked them up and ran with the other boys on their backs.

Five minutes later, the group finally arrived at the station. Johnathan and Ivan put the others down before taking a rest.

"Daniel, you understand how dumb you are. Not only that but you screamed like a little bitch when we were falling. Even Ash kept his cool. If we didn't get stronger because of the crystal, we would've most likely died"

Hearing what Ivan had to say, Daniel put his head down in shame. He was embarrassed, and angry. Angry that he put their lives in danger and embarrassed that he screamed like a little bitch when a small kid didn't even make a peep.

"Its all good, just make sure you don't do that again. I don't wanna die just cause you raised your voice"

Johnathan said as he walked passed the two of them with Ash by his side. As he walked down the trail tracks inside the station he looked around and wondered why there weren't any zombies there. It was a public place and there should've been at least a couple people waiting for a train.

Deciding not to walk in any further without the other two he patiently waited for them to catch up. Once they were by his side, they continued their journey through the station.

After walking a couple more meters, the four heard a growl along with the sound the something chewing. Everyone hearing the sounds looked around and got into a running stance. Johnathan took out his phone and turned on his flash. The tunnel they were walking in was bright enough to be able to tell where you were going but further ahead of them was too dark to be able to tell what was there.

"Wh-"

Daniel was about to say something but Johnathan was too fast as he turned on the flash and lit up the darkness. Once the darkness was replaced with some light, the four saw three zombies eating the corpse of a man.

The zombies turned their heads and looked towards the group of boys. They immediately got up and started limping at a moderate speed towards them.

""Fuck""

The group said in sync as they watched the zombies make their way towards them.
