Decision

Intro

Beol: Me and Dante explained the severity of the situation we were in and my ill condition. Dante gave an overview of the different types of demons we'd be facing and on Baren. Angis and the counsel worked on a plan of attack to defeat Baren and his army. Aaron and Eris helped Angis organize groups in making weapons, equipment, and various items for the helpers. Once everyone had completed their assigned tasks we assembled in the conference room to discuss our plan of attack.

Angis: "Let's review. Barren, the new demon lord, has a large army of demon soldiers at his disposal, and we assume that with the time that has passed he has recruited human into his ranks. He also has possession of the void soul, also known as the black heart, and has acquired the title of demon king and is growing stronger. Void souls are created by the concentration of negative energy and energy from the decay of demon hearts, or in simpler terms, demon souls. I should also point out that void souls are capable of stealing the life force from living beings. It also gives the wielder godlike regeneration. Baren also has a special ability of his own. It's called Mind Warp, and as the name implies, it's the ability corrupt and warp minds intelligent beings. We suspect this ability has grown much stronger since Baren obtained the void soul. The illusions created from this ability are dangerous. Getting caught in one means certain death. Currently there's no chance we can beat him, so fighting him is strictly prohibited. To have any hope of defeating him we'll need to greatly increase our battle strength. Now, as for the warriors we'll be fighting, there's a total of five types. The first group are Titans. They are giant demons with incredible strength. They are loyal to the core, but not very intelligent. They have the berserk ability, which allows them to deal double their damage output while reducing received damage. The second group are Goliaths, and they are forces to be reckoned with. They're extremely dumb, but just as dangerous. Out of all these demons they're the most versatile. Not only that, the more damage they endure the stronger they get. They even rival their titan brethren. As for the third group, they're called demotaurus and they travel in large groups. They have average intelligence and fighting capabilities, but way more organized than the Goliaths. They also have an honor system whereas if you can manage to defeat their leader the rest will withdraw. The fourth group are Red drakes, and they are one of the more intelligent demons. They can adapt easily to new situations and are very cunning. They aren't as strong as Goliaths, but their shrieking can either paralyze you or knock you unconscious. They travel in small-medium groups. They're extremely fast and agile, so do be careful not to get surrounded. As for the last group, I'll start by saying this. If you don't pay attention to what I tell you, you will die. Void angels are not, and I mean not to be fought under any circumstances and are not to be underestimated. If what Dante told us is true, these creatures will attack and kill any living creature, so one you better prepared to die if you decide to kill it or leave immediately. If it sees you it'll hunt you down and kill you. And god you better pray it's not in a group. And never look them directly in the eyes. They possess illusion magic similar to Dante's Mind Warp. If you get caught in their hallucinations, you'll most certainly die. They possess the ability to move between spatial dimensions and trap you in them. But they can't move over long distances though, so ranged attacks are recommended. Now, as for the topic that's been weighing on everyone's minds. Unfortunately, because of the decree us Nirvanians can't go to Earth to fight Baren."

Angel: "What! If we can't even go to Earth, then what was the point of all our preparations?"

Angis: "Calm yourself. There's a way, we just need a few modifications." (Evilish grin).

Everyone's faces turned pale. Whispers of concern began to arise among the angels.

Angis: "Let me explain. As dwellers of Nirvana, we can't interfere with life on Earth. But that begs the question, what if we were turn human and leave Nirvana?"

The angels expression of worry turned to surprise.

Angis: "While father was in the Beneath he managed to acquire this (holds up a vial), human blood. With this, we can take the human form while retaining our powers."

Aaron: "And what are we gonna do with that, drink it?"

All the angels laugh franticly at Aaron's comment.

Angis: "Why, yes."

The room fell silent. The angels looked at each other with shock and confusion. Even Dante was surprised by Angis's suggestion, even though he already knew what Angis said was true. Dante was also angry that Beol stole his blood supplies.

Angis: "By drinking this, your spirit will harden and the blood will form a body to incase it. During this process you'll fall to Earth just as Dante did, but without the fire and brimstone. Just a few major injuries from crashing to Earth. But hey, I'm sure you'll be fine, right Dante?" (Smiles at Dante).

💢Dante: (I hate you, very much), he thinks to himself as he glares at Angis.

Angel: *Whisper. "Is he is trying to make our situation sound like it couldn't get worse, while insinuating it's not as bad as we think it is?"

Angis: "We only have two vials, so we need two volunteers. Any takers?"

None of the Angels raised their hands. Angis's description of the transformation process was still vague to them as well as scary. Also, they were terrified by the demons they could face.

Angis: "Aaron, Eris, thanks for volunteering."

Aaron: "What, why me!? I can understand why you'd send Eris, but why should I go?

Eris: "Hey! What do you mean by that?!"

Aaron: "Also, we're one of the youngest angels here. We're the least qualified for this job, especially me. You should choose someone who's older and has more experience for this mission."

Angis: "Actually, the counsel and I reviewed the backgrounds of you angels and had a discussion on who we should send. We concluded that you two were the most qualified for this particular mission."

Eris: "Hold on Angis. Not to be defient, but I agree with Aaron. We don't have enough experience to deal with demons, also we haven't had many good encounters with humans. Trying to reconvert them, I think that's beyond our ability."

Angis: "Listen you two, you don't have to…"

Aaron: "My point exactly. We're just not ready for this."

Angis: "Calm down. You're overthink..."

Eris: "Also, we'd make a terrible pair. I'd be ok with going if it was with someone else, but Aaron is just too soft. He takes to long to make important decisions."

Angis: "Would you let me speak? This mission is..."

Aaron: "Hey, I am not soft. I'm just not a jerk, like you. I like to use my brain to make decisions instead of just blindly rushing into situations. It's called thinking, you should try it sometime."

Angis: "Hey, listen to me!"

Eris: "Oh please, by the time you decide to make a decision the situation gets so far out of control that it becomes almost impossible to fix. You're too indecisive, which makes you terrible for every mission you go on."

Angis: "BE QUIET!

Aaron: "You little b..."

Angis: "SHUUUUUUUT!!! UUUUUUUUP!!!"

Angis's shook the room with his voice. Aaron and Eris ceased their bickering and took back their seats.

Angis: "Aaron, your past encounters with humans have been quite positive. Your passion to help humans is vast and you make allies wherever you go. Your compassion and love for others will be a great asset for restoring our followers. Now about Eris's point, initially you're slow to react to situations, but your calm demeanor allows you to think and quickly adapt to stressful situations. Demons hate aura like yours. Some will keep their distance, but most of them will want you dead and sadly try to kill you."

Aaron: Why does he insist on putting good things before bad? And why does he make everything sound so horrific?

Angis: "Eris, your fighting abilities and battle instincts stem from your inability to get along with humans and your past participation in human brawls, even though you knew you were forbidden to do so. But we'll excuse your punishment because you were so kind to volunteer. Also, you know more about human corruption and desire than Aaron and I, being that you spent so much time living in the darker corners of their hearts. No to mention, that temper of yours you inherited amuses me. I really would like to see how you get along with todays humans."

Eris: "Huh?"

Beol: "Angis, do not allow your tongue speak carelessly of the departed."

Angis: "Yes father, my apologies. Well Eris, what do you say?"

Eris: "Tsk, fine. I'll do it, geez."

The angels chuckled at Eris a bit. Dante quickly chewed Beol out for stealing his blood vials.

Angis: "Look on the bright side Eris, this will be great training for you, and you'll get to go to Earth. Maybe you'll see some old faces. I pray they're not dead."

Eris: "What?!"

Beol: "Angis, watch your tongue."

Angis: "Yes father, I will keep it tide. Although, I don't see how it would hurt to drop a few dark hints towards her. I'm sure she'll find out later in their travels." (Grimace).

Aaron: I can't tell if he's trying to be reassuring or make us feel completely incompetent about our entire situation.

Angis: "Alright everyone, listen up! Aaron and Eris will go…"

Aaron: *Whisper. "Hey, I know that look. Don't get mad, you know descending to Earth is forbidden. Not to mention, you were fighting, which is a high crime. You can be seriously punished for that you know. You could be stripped of your title or worse, exfoliated. If it wasn't for this war, he'd be deciding your punishment."

Eris: *Whisper. "Tsk, please. He wouldn't have done anything either way. Angis has already caught me several times breaking the rules. If he wanted to punish me he would've done so long ago. Instead, he's now using this chance to blackmail me, and in front of father no less. That smug prick. Thinking that he can force me accept this mission because I fear of getting punished. Don't make me laugh. Being punished was the last of my worries."

Angis: "... and by doing that we can get more human blood…"

Aaron: *Whisper. "What did you expect? Angis takes his job very seriously. He follows the rules to the letter, and rarely makes exceptions. And you shouldn't talk like that. Punishment shouldn't be taken lightly. Angis decides the fate of all angels who brake the rules. After all, there's nothing that goes on in Nirvana without his knowing. If father's counsel deems your disobedience poses too much of a risk to us, then Angis might decide to do more than just banish you. "

Angis: "... afterward each reincarnation, I'll send more angels…"

Eris: *Whisper. "I know I know. But still, it still ticks me off. Him trying to force me to into this mission. Don't get me wrong, I'd love nothing more than to go to Earth again and see how it's changed over the last 300 years. But, I want to make that choice for myself."

Angis: "... once that is done, they'll need to head West to deactivate...?"

Aaron: *Whisper. "Well here's your chance to go to Earth, so you might as well take it."

Angis: "And then, we can finally take the fight to Baren. Ok, you all have your orders. Everyone get to work."

Eris: "Well, something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. Angis is always on top of things. Wait, where's everyone going?"

Everyone began leaving in preparation for Aaron And Eris's departure. Aaron and Eris were given a set of divine weapons and armors. Aaron was given the divine sword Guardian, a specially crafted sword with great healing properties, and Auroras Cloak, a hooded cloak that grants super strength and doubles vitality. Eris was given the Gothic Shield, an unbreakable shield made of pure energy, and the Solar armor, a heavy set of armor that increases the users attributes by one-hundred fold.

Angis: "So, are you two ready to descend?"

*Simultaneous

Aaron: "Yes."

Eris: "No."

Angis hands Aaron and Eris each a vile of blood.

Angis: "Alright, you two don't have much time so drink this immediately. As soon as you drink this the transformation will begin your great plummet to Earth."

Eris: "You just enjoy making everything sound as bad as it can be, right Aaron? Aaron?"

Aaron: "WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT FIIIIIIIIIIIIIRST!!!" -Falling to Earth-.

Eris: "Aaron! What the heck Angis?" (Grabs Angis by the collar).

Aaron: "Hey, I know I said immediately, but I didn't mean at this very moment when I'm talking to you. He should've let me finish. Tsk, moron."

Eris growls at Angis, then lets him go.

Angis: "Relax, he's not gonna die, but he did drink the vial before we got to the drop-off point, so you might want to get down there in quickly so you two don't get separated. Oh, also tell him not to use your weapons until you reach level 3. Wouldn't want your bodies to explode from too much divine energy."

Eris: "Wait, what is leveling up...hmm?"

Angis force feeds Eris the vial of blood.

💢Angis: "If you weren't talking to Aaron the whole time in the meeting and paid attention earlier, you'd know.

Eris begins her fall.

Angis: "Get as many followers as you can to pray to father! That's how we'll reincarnate! And bury as many demon hearts as you can, request from Dante! FIND THE ARK, AND DEACTIVATE IT!"

Eris: "I'M GONNA KILL YOU WHEN I GET BACK, ANGIS!"

Angis: "I'LL BE WAITING! GOOD LUCK!" -Leaves-

Eris: I hope you made the right choice, Angis.

Angis: Father, I really hope I made the right choice.
