REGRETS

The wedding bells sounded in her ears all through the night. She was getting married to a king! A rich king! A handsome man who loves her like a fat kid loves cake!!" Special tossed all night as she slept alone, unable to sleep as the thoughts of her walking down the aisle plagued her head, for it should be a treasured moment.

John was awake at that moment, with his soon to be divorced wife by his side. Hope had spent the rest of the night begging and making vows but all fell on deaf ears when John climbed the bed and began to snore right away in pretense.

"My husband, i know you are awake, can we talk?"

"There is absolutely nothing to talk about "

"There is, my husband, you can't just throw away 30 years of relationship away. We have been married for 25 years and you want to end it all now"

"Yes"

"No my husband!. It cannot happen"

"Its too late Hope. I was supposed to end this marriage when Special was 10 years old but my other kids was so small. I allowed this union linger on and my reward was, you emotionally abused my eldest daughter, turned your own eldest daughter to the worse young lady i have seen without character and decorum"

"Is it my fault Treasure turned out the way she is today? Oh please stop shifting blames. You want to know why i dislike that girl so much is because You love that your daughter Special above all else including me"

"What?!!"

"Oh please dont feign such innocence before me! Felicia took her to raise her but because she was Dorothy's child, you wanted to be the one to raise her. I begged you several times but you refused. She grew up under my roof looking like Dorothy that you loved so much and without thinking, you would always put her first in everything!" Cried Hope

"That is so not true Hope and you know it. I have always been a good father to all my children"

"And an affectionate father to Special. You practically worship the ground she walks on"

"Is it my fault? I made her mother a promise and you didn't let me keep it!!!" screamed John.

Everyone in the Nosa suite had heard the loud voices of Professor John. it was 4am at the time. Glancing from the bed side clock, Treasure stood up and strolled to her father's room. She knew they were quarreling and it hurts. At that moment, Susan was also coming out of her room. She was also troubled by the bantering of her parents.

Together they knocked on the door. Their father immediately opened it trying to put a smile on his face because his pregnant daughter looked strained.

"Am so sorry for shouting loudly girls."

"Daddy you never raise your voice except you are provoked" Susan said

"Your father is insisting on a divorce" screamed Hope from inside the room.

They ladies had to walk in to see their crying mother on the bed.

"I support Daddy. If he is unhappy, he has the right to leave. Divorce is not a death sentence mummy" Susan stated looking straight at her mother.

"I support Daddy too. I want him to be happy" Treasure stated and everyone in the room was shocked. John's eyes widened at his daughter's statement. That was so unlike Treasure. She looked so remorseful.

"Are you stupid Treasure, you have allowed Susan poison your mind"

"Susan didn't poison my mind mummy. I want my father to be happy."

"What about me? don't I deserve to be happy?" Hope tearfully asked.

"He doesn't want to be together with you. Why are you forcing him? You will only make him hate you more and you will be frustrated. In turn, you will make our Dad miserable. I don't want that for both of you."

This outbursts made everyone surprised!
