EPILOGUE

This was the wedding of the century as there was never a time where everywhere was filled with dignitaries in such a short notice for a ceremony. The whole society gathered together to celebrate the union of their beloved king. Derek was loved as a ruler and a prosperous business man.

From all across the globe, his prominent clients and several business investors as well as other people who have enjoyed his services, traveled down to get access to the wedding of the season.

Special woke up that morning and she couldn't believe her eyes. She had been restless all through the night. Unaware of any fracas taking place in her father's suite. She was stunned almost all the time, wondering how a young girl like her was about to land a man like Derek a grand ceremony. He was not just handsome, he was wealthy, he was not just wealthy, he was extra loving and attentive. He believed in her dreams and still he was very protective of her. The episodes of thoughts looked like an icing on the cake. It felt like a reward for all the years of suffering. This was just too good to be true.

A few minutes before she was to leave the suite, after all the makeup and dressing had taken place, Adesuwa made brought in a letter. A letter which contained a message from her sister Treasure. It was an apology, promising to be on her best behaviour from henceforth and making amends for the past mistakes and wrong deeds.

Special had forgiven her even though it would seem impossible to forget the many years of embarrassment and abuse. This was a good decision, she thought and prayed in her heart that Hope takes a new turn to be a better person. She didn't believe that would happen in the nearest future but she hoped for it. Smiling already, she kept the letter on her bed as she walked out.

As she walked outside of the room, her grandmother was right there beautifully dressed and ready to support her granddaughter. Special was so sure that her mother would be so proud wherever she was, as this would've been her dream come true for her. John the father of the bride strolled in, just in time for him to walk his daughter down the aisle. It was the wedding of a king and a Queen, hence he was proud.

After all she had been through, she finally gets a kind partner as a reward. His brothers who stayed back behind from his birthday celebration were also very happy for him because finally the daughter of Dorothy, their favourite late wife, was getting married.

The daughter of the woman he loved so dearly. His beloved late wife. Hope on the other hand, dressed and walked straight to the hall with a silken expression. She prayed in her heart that John does not carry out his threat as she would end up all alone. Susan and her Husband were all gorgeously dressed with their son and Ashley by their side.

They entered the hall cheerfully, exchanging pleasantries with Mrs Lola and Toju. Treasure was already seated and one could see the changes visibly within her. A change of countenance and she was more accommodating, willing to seat near all of them. King Derek strolled into the hall, straight to the altar already propped with a white tuxedo jacket, blank pant trouser looking like a model out of the recent glamour magazine. He was nervous, waiting for his beautiful bride.

As the piano cords were struck, everyone stood up to watch the entrance of the most beautiful bride, they have ever seen. Derek smiled while she walked slowly with her father and grandmother by each side of her arms. It felt like a fairy tale.

The wedding vows began with both promising to love one another till death. King Derek promised Special a commitment to always be hers alone. Special cried for the most part of the vows promising to always be by his side till the end of time. And so it was, that the marriage rites progressed with the exchange of the wedding rings and blessings from the priest. It was concluded with a romantic kiss.

Everyone clapped and cheered as the priest gave a sermon of unity and continued love to the couple. Urging them to continue to keep their friendship intact, willing to make amends and full of apologies to one another when offended. He also advise all gathered to ensure to support the newly wedded with the right counsel at all times.

Cleopatra watched the ceremony with so much joy, wishing in her heart that the same could be said of her and her brothers top security man Uyi. She wished they could have the kind of love story and hoped that maybe they would have the kind of story with Special by her side. She believed that maybe the next wedding might be hers.

The king and the Queen walked arms intertwined out of the hall, waiving gently at the crowd as they were heading to their reception party. King Derek lovingly whispered into the ears of his Queen as they walked. "I am so glad I met you the day of the accident. Thank God I was the one who rescued you." "I won't have had it another way" she responded smiling back at him. Recollecting the past and thanking God for ordering her step alright, for this day made her feel Special indeed.
