Cold night massacre (2)

"Hmph!"

The other goons were terrified to see their leader dying. They lost their fighting intent and ran like beaten dogs.

Ray's group didn't chase them but marched towards the first floor.

RAT..TA..TA..RA.TA..TA

As soon as they reached the 1st floor, they were welcomed by an intense round of firing.

Ray and others hid in the staircase as they fired rounds of bullets towards the goons.

Ray's eyes glowered murderously as he took out a hand grenade from system storage and threw it towards the first floor. The floor was half full of smoke due to constant firing and nobody saw the black object thrown at them.

Immediately, the grenade blew up as soon it reached the crowd, sending shrapnel and a wave of heated gas rippling through the stairway. Shrill cries of anguish reverberated throughout the floor as the smoke billowed and broken limbs and organs were flung into the air. More than dozens died immediately while another dozen lay half-dead and burned, wriggling on the floor like pathetic worms.

Wasting no time, Ray and Nathan rushed past them and charged towards the unharmed goons who were retreating in panic.

"Heh!! Thinking about running now?" sneered Ray as he mercilessly swung his blade and beheaded three goons together.

Blood splashed on his face and it made Ray more excited and gradually awakened his dormant bloodlust.

All he wanted was to kill more!!

More and more goons arrived from other second and third floors as Ray and others were busy clearing the goons.

BANG!!BANG!!

RAT..TA..RA..TAA

They reacted immediately and started shooting blindly at Ray's party.

Ray swiftly glanced at them and found six of them were at level 1 and one at level 2.

"It's a bit tricky!! Looks like almost everyone is here!!" thought Ray contemplating.

He directly signalled Nathan with his eyes and rushed towards the level 1 goons. Since there was no strategy, he must take out the level 1 enemies as fast he could!

The level 2 muscular goon instinctively sensed danger from Ray and yelled, "Open fire!! KIll that man first!!"

"Shit!" cursed Ray as he grabbed another goon as his meat shield as bullets rained upon him.

RAT..TA..RAT..TA

The goona probably never thought that it would die at the hands of his allies. Ray mercilessly swung the dead body and fiercely threw it towards the goons.

BOOM!!

The goons were thrown at the wall by the force of the throw. Massive blocks of concrete blocks crashed onto them burying them almost alive. But being level 1, they only coughed up blood by the force and were again starting to fire when they were dumbstruck to find that Ray was no longer where he was!

Where did he go?

A sense of fear prevailed over them as they searched for Ray all around.

Suddenly, the muscular level 2 goon felt a chill on the top of his head, and as he looked up, he saw was a steel hammer crashing down towards his head. His pupil dilated in fear and he hastily tried to use his hands to cover his head, but Ray did not even give him time to react as the steel hammer smashed upon his head forcefully.

BANG!!

The level 2 goon's head disintegrated like smashed watermelon and brain matter and blood splattered everywhere. All that slumped on the ground was his headless corpse.

All of this happened within some seconds, causing the goons to not react. All the goons were horrified to see the most powerful goon dead without an intact body. Moreover, their enemy needed only one blow to do that...

Was he still a human?

In fear, they started to shoot wildly.

"Heh!! It's hunting time now!" sneered Ray as he agilely twisted his body so that no bullet could hit him. He ran towards the gunmen in a flash and delivered a staggering blow at each of them with his hammer which he took out from his system storage.

Bang! Bang! Bang!!~

Each and every blow took down a goon, some having their rib cage crashed or having their head smashed. The scene was gore as limbs and brain matters splattered to the floor.

The one-sided killing without any mercy went on, while the rest of the goons, being horrified, threw their guns as they ran away for their lives. They had only one thought at that moment- RUN!

Unfortunately, the only pathway to run was the staircase which was occupied by Ray's party. As the horrified goons ran towards the stairway screaming at the top of their lungs, for their lives, they were mercilessly shot with bullets, ending their sinful lives!

Finally, all sounds died down along with all the goons.

"Looks like almost all of their main fighters are dead!" said Ray's uncle.

"Hope's so!"

"Is anyone injured?" asked Ray concerned.

"No, we are fine!"

"Well okay then, the leader is probably at least level 3 or level 4. After I clear out the other goons and rescue the girls, I want you all to flee from the building," informed Ray.

"But-"

"No buts!! I need to be free to fight freely. Oh, yes rescue those you can, don't try to overestimate yourself and try to be a saint. Times have changed! Be selfish and save your asses first!" warned Ray again.

Others grudgingly nodded.

"Fine then let's head straight to the third floor. " waved Ray as he rushed fast to the second floor to finish off the remaining goons.

But as his uncle said, the second floor was almost empty with only ten goons left to guard the floor. They were already killed in swift stroke when Ray's party arrived on the second floor.

Ray just glanced at them and then his gaze moved towards the third floor.
