Chapter 441: To Bind or Not to Bind, Part 2

A loud pounding noise dragged me from a deep sleep. I blinked, trying to get my bearings. I was on the couch, and Trent was behind me, curled protectively around my body, sound asleep. The pounding stopped, and I relaxed back against Trent's chest. I must be hearing things.

Then, the front door swung open. Whitney strode in. "Hello?" she called.

"Whitney!" I shrieked, hugging the blanket to my naked body.

Trent jerked awake. Thankfully, he was covered by the blanket, too. "What's going on?" he said. "Why did you scream?"

"Because Whitney decided to barge in," I said, shooting her a dirty look.

She looked anything but apologetic, though. Humor lit her eyes, and she cleared her throat. "Sorry. Didn't realize you two would be. . ." She wiggled her finger in our direction. "Why are you two down here like this anyway?" she asked, crossing her arms.

I was going to kill her.
