"Okay, so let's go over everything we know," Isach said. He crossed the room and sat in the armchair. "We know Dante has been working with the Zoya, and we know he was building a vampire army."
"But we don't know why," Colt said.
I winced as pain sliced across my midsection, and I shifted to get more comfortable. Trent watched me carefully, body tense as if he were ready to spring into action should I need him.
"Didn't Macaih say something about all of this?" I asked, ignoring the throbbing ache in my back. "He said he owed Ivy a favor, remember? Something about Dante and Yolanda getting out of control, so the Rose Coven and a few others imposed some sort of punishment?"
I glanced around the room at everyone. Surely, someone other than me must remember that. The pain in my back intensified into a sharp, unbearable stab, and I sat up as straight as I could, crying out. I reached around to rub at the sore spot, but that only made it worse.
