Sara - The Look

A year later and Sara was still not too sure about Tom. Grandfather had passed. They had to move into a small house on the far side of town that was not as nice and the houses were much smaller. There was only two bedrooms and an outhouse along with a sitting area with a small kitchen off to the side.

It was not easy adjusting to such small quarters. Sara’s uncles had come in the day after Grandfather’s funeral and ordered them out by the end of that week. Sara had expected her mother to give them a fight for telling her what to do, but she meekly agreed and packed her daughters up. Why hadn’t she fought to stay longer? She was the one who took care of the old man for years while they came to see him once a year maybe.
