Howling

Ivan's heart went pitter-patter when he anxiously walked around the decorated tree while calling his friend Kai multiple times but as his calls were going blank, he was getting on the verge of panic.

During his attempts of contacting his friends, he saw his principal approaching him again.

NOT AGAIN!

He rolled his eyes while turning his back and cursing at his fate.

"Mr Ivan, where are the guests? Are they really arriving today or not?"

Ivan could sense the patience running out of the old man's system as he wiped his sweaty forehead while asking. He took a long deep breath of patience filling inside his body to convince the principal that how the guests might ditch today's event.

"Sir I-"

"Shush… Do you have any idea how insulting it will be for us if they don't appear for today's function? Our years of reputation and name will go down into the puddle." The principal scolded his low tone. Ivan has to nod to every word.

"I understand sir, why don't we start the ceremony till they will arrive here?"

"These people are gathered here only to see one glimpse of the special guests and are less interested in this stupid farewell function." the principal harshly blurted out the truth.

"I am trying hard to contact them, I am sure they must be on the way" thin lines appeared on Ivan's temple.

"If they don't appear today then do you see that footpath?"

Ivan looked at the way the principal pointed.

"That will be your next place, got that?"

The principal threatened him and walked away leaving Ivan in despair. He stomped his foot on the ground feeling annoyed thinking his best friends are going to ditch him on the very important day of his life, which became important a few minutes ago after receiving a job-losing threat.

Ivan pulled out his phone and typed a message furiously.

-

Augustus's phone beeped with a notification. He unlocked it and checked Ivan's messages. He calmly read it one by one.

"Don't forget today's event"

"I am so excited"

"What are you planning to wear?"

"Please tell Kai to wear something suitable and formal"

"Hey, where are you?"

"Pick up my call"

"Please"

"THE FUCK WHERE YOU ARE?"

"CALL BACK YOU MORON"

"IF YOU DON'T COME HERE TODAY THEN FORGET THAT WE ARE FRIENDS ANYMORE. BYE. FU."

- Tiny

The moment Augustus completed reading, he heard the door opening from his right watching the azure head Beta getting into the car bright-eyed and bushy-tailed while adjusting the shrug made from the leopard's skin he hunted a few weeks back. It seemingly clung to his upper body, while being in the shorts which didn't go well with his fashion sense of Augustus.

"You should have worn something else that-"

"Yess, I am on time!" Kai clasped his hands together and rubbed them excitedly completely avoiding participating in the lectures related to fashion and clothes, which Augustus made sure to give him at least ten times a day.

He was still in the zone of what happened a few moments back in the ring.

After the boxing match almost turned into a war, the Blue moon pack became aware of the attack. Kai had only one option left to tame everyone. He got over Alpha San's back who looked like a possessed uncontrollable wolf. While Omega's from his pack tried to misguide those wolves, Kai took hold of their Alpha's leash and led him towards the huge gong bell. Leaning to the side, he moved his hand out. The Omega of their pack, Moon, instantly handed the metal hammer in his and while riding the wolf past it, Kai smashed the metal on that gong.

The vibrations of the gong sound made each wolf from the opponent's pack stop as they couldn't tolerate the banging metallic sound of it and bent towards the ground in an attempt to endure the intensity of it.

As soon as the authorities dismissed the other pack ultimately making the blue moon pack the winner, Kai dashed off from there knowing he had an event to attend. It didn't go well with the Alpha June, although he didn't try to stop him but watched him going away.

Kai touched his flask of their special drink and mouthed it without asking.

"Mmmh….mmmh?" his eyes caught a glimpse of Ivan's text on Augustus's phone. His dewy eyes widened in surprise and a chuckle left his mouth after seeing Ivan's scolding through messages. Assuming that he must have received infinite calls from Ivan as well, he started looking for his phone.

"Oh damn, I forgot my phone behind" He facepalmed.

Augustus opened his mouth to talk but Kai blurted right away.

"Never mind your crush will take care of it"

Augustus knows whom he is talking about.

"She isn't my crush" he huffed while remembering some past deeds which he often felt happened by mistake and the biggest mistake was Kai knew all of it only risen annoyance for it.

"Every night-I see you-I feel you" Kai teasingly sang.

Augustus closed his eyes in utter frustration, sliding the phone back into his blazer.

"You are fourteen minutes late, Ivan is waiting for us for an hour, and you-"

"Thirteen minutes and fifty-nine seconds I finished the fight today and we will make it up to Ivan later"

"Do you even know the importance of the tim-"

"Come on come on come on let's go," Kai cut his talk in between clasping his hands and instructing the chauffeur to drive off further.

Augustus passed a paper bag of designer outfits he has brought for him. Kai eyed inside amusingly.

"There wasn't any need for this but thanks"

He looked at Augustus with a knowing look. Augustus held his gaze for a moment before raising his eyebrow slightly.

"I said thanks for coming here" Kai looked at him expectedly.

Augustus took a deep breath of patience. "Clothes are a basic need of a human unlike-"

"Yeah, thanks for this too." Kai broke his flow of talk while taking the clothes out of the bag.

Augustus threw a glance at him.

Kai was engrossed on his own while being grateful for their friendship.

"Anyways, when is the event? Has it started yet?" and in one go Kai pulled out his shorts. Augustus quickly looked out of the window, shaking his head in disbelief but Kai took it as an answer to his question.

When during the fight Alpha San was busy trying to hold Kai's mind, someone else invaded his mind and played a nasty trick to make him remember all those sad memories he wanted to forget. When Kai put a leash on him, it just increased the intensity of the humiliation.

What will be more humiliating than to pull down someone morally by getting a grip on his mind and making them your pet?

Kai knew how much of a manipulator Augustus can be and assumed previously that he helped him during the fight.

With a friend like him, Kai found it easy to get away from those things he felt hard to tackle. He felt thankful towards him but saw Augustus being his usual self not able to take human gestures yet.

And then they call me animals!

Kai huffed with a thought.

"Of course, you are an animal" Augustus murmured turning back at him.

"Arhhhh," Kai growled playfully. "Don't look back I am naked"

Augustus quickly looked away after hearing Kai. He also heard the strong husk chuckling over him.

Once Kai hummed, Augustus finally turned at him.

The azure head looked well in the long leopard's foreskin shirt.

He didn't say anything as it looked better than before.

"Bro'' Kai cheered while putting on his ornaments briskly. A chain around his neck, some crystals attaching to the curve of his right ear, a blue stone ring on his fourth finger, and the bracelet gifted by Ivan.

The calm and composed Augustus passed a judgemental look at the exuberant former who bounced too much on the seat. He let out a deep breath controlling himself to not quarrel with Kai before meeting Ivan and leaned back clasping his hands together.

The car took a turn and drove straight towards the Kindergarten where their manfriend was waiting for them, swearing upon their friendship.

-

The principal and Ivan helplessly looked at each other.

The guests haven't been there yet.

"Get ready Ivan. This will be your last day here"

"Sir!" Ivan looked at him helplessly.

The principal walked away.

Parents of kids already present there started asking about the special guests. Some of them looked impatient, some looked tired while waiting for them, and a few started leaving after seeing no sign of the popular guests.

Ivan has already told the staff of the kindergarten to provide food items and fresheners they have arranged for kids and their parents.

His eyes started filling up with tears while fiddling with his fingers and puckering his lower lip.

He needed his two biggies there as soon as possible but there was no sign of them. He thickly gulped the feeling of left betrayed as he looked in the direction of the kindergarten entrance once before he turned his back with a cold sigh.

Suddenly he saw the kindergarten staff run past him. Everyone looked charged and eager. The bunch of journalists and reporters who were waiting for an eternity for the one look at the special guests, run ahead urgently.

For what reason are they excited? No one is going to arrive. Ivan thought meanwhile then he heard someone yelling, "They are here, special guests are here!"

Ivan halted in his tracks. His heart skipped a beat after hearing it.
