Aftermath

Ivan's heart jumped. Then he peeped from the gap of his fingers watching how Kai dodged the attacks by moving his hands ahead promptly. His breathing heaved up watching the two already overpowering on Kai. When one of them lifted their leg to kick in Kai's face, the other swung their leg to his legs at the same moment. He dodged up the uppercut but fell after receiving a hit to his ankles. He shifted near to June, tugging on his sleeves of the hoodie anxiously.

For the first few minutes, Kai kept dodging over one while couldn't. He tried hard to find a balance in fighting with both. He kept defending in the beginning. The two grew overpowering on him at every passing minute.

Ivan couldn't stand for this. He couldn't see Kai going through a difficult time. Everybody was cheering for them. Alpha June watched the fight calmly, seeing Ivan become tenser.

How can he be calm when his younger brother is going through difficulty fighting with two?

When Kai tried to take a hold of one, the other fighter swiftly moved behind him and wrapped his arm around Kai's neck, gripping him in the hold while the other released from his hold in a snap and threw a punch at him.

Ivan ducked himself behind June in fear.

Kai titled his head to the side quickly letting the one behind him face the wrath of the other's punch. When the rival stumbled back, Kai held onto his grip around his neck and lifted his body up, kicking on the other's face, not giving them a chance to defend themselves.

A loud cheering for Kai's name echoed in the gym house.

Ivan slowly peeped out behind June and watched Kai taking over the two fighters fiercely. As Moon told him, the scenario in front of him is indeed a sight to witness but the violence shook up his mind. Although Kai fought back in return also received some wrath. That doesn't go well with soft-hearted Ivan. The chaos around him faded and he could only hear the sound of beating, punching, breaking the skull of his jaw. Every time the rivals attacked Kai, his breathing hitched, his heart jumped, he flinched on his place, ducked behind June, tugging on his arm, covering his gasps with his palms.

At the thirteenth minute, the two rivals fell in the ring with a thud. Coach held Kai's hand and raised it declaring the winner.

Till then Ivan's eyes have welled up out with tears. He couldn't take it anymore.

Meanwhile, Alpha June clapped for the younger. He looked quite proud and impressed when came out of the ring, approaching them.

Kai saw Ivan standing with the Alpha, gazing at him with teary eyes. When he moved towards him, Ivan turned his back at him marching out of the gym house.

Kai's feet moved automatically in Ivan's way when Alpha June stopped him.

"Where are you going? We have some guests over here and don't forget last night's havoc" he murmured the lines near Kai's ears. " If you are going to meet that bloodsucker again then I am telling you the consequences will be worse."

"June! Let me be"

"That vampire has already injured most of our pack members, have you already forgotten about last night?" Alpha June's intimidating eyes pierced the Beta.

"Did I tell our pack to come across my friend when he was in the deadliest form? Who was at fault first?" Kai took a stand for his friend calmly but his inside was burning with anger.

Alpha June looked triggered hearing his words. "He was in our territory and you know the rules of it"

Kai scoffed. "Oh fuck your rules!"

"Kai, you better-"

"I don't have time for this nonsense. I have to go. Ivan must be waiting for me"

Saying this he strode away from the Alpha, leaving him in fits of rage. In between, he heard Moon calling him.

She carried his backpack which had all his belongings. Both walked towards the dressing room.

"Thanks," Kai murmured, opening the bag and pulling out his clothes.

"Brother, are you going out with your friends?"

"Yes, why? What happened?"

Moon shook her head smiling at him. "Nothing just wanted to say, I get bored sitting at home and spending my weekends alone. Can I also join you?"

She wanted to meet Augustus. Kai knew what had been going on in her mind. She never really hides anything from him. Whatever came into her mind, he could read it as it is. Without many struggles to know her.

"You know right June is already upset with me?" he said, buckling his trousers.

"I will take care of him, no worries," she assured.

Kai looked at her for a moment then exhaled, hanging the shirt over his shoulder.

"Fine. Let's go"

"I will be back. Give me some minutes" saying that she ran inside.

Kai inhaled deeply thinking about Ivan's upset face. He rubbed his palms and walked towards his way.

Meanwhile, in Borbon's house, the clan members tried hard to blame and thrash Augustus.

"Can you shove your filthy ass somewhere else Enzo?" Elena snapped.

Enzo rolled his eyes in disgust. "Why don't you do that first bitch?"

"What did you just call me?" Elena's eyes flashed with fire. Enzo could feel it spreading in his body and he immediately held back his tongue.

"I said, witch!"

She looked pissed.

"Listen, you" "Show this attitude to someone else, not me"

"SILENCE!"

Looking at the neverending verbal fight around the table while the expected one sitting quite wrecked Zefer's nerves and he shouted at them. He opened his fist, grabbing the paperweight from the Bloodnut's hand, pulling it straight to his fist. That annoyed Augustus a bit as he raised his one brow, tapping his fingers on the wood.

"It was another human massacre that wasn't supposed to happen!" Zefer's gaze pierced on the bloodnut in front of him. "It caused friction with one of our rivals when least expected and this time I won't be merciful. Keep this in mind."

As he threatened the ripper over the aftermath of a serious incident of human killings which took place last night, the bloodnut guy quietly sat there on the cushioned leather brown chair, slowly swinging side to side which creaked every time.

"I am talking to you, Augustus!" Zefer yelled after losing the last bit of his patience.

The former bloodnut matched his eyes with his uncle.

"Pretty hectic morning for you, isn't it?"

Hearing his imprudent talk, Zefer becomes rageful.

His eyes stilled on the bloodnut, capturing every single detail about him. Only if anyone could invade the mastermind's brain.

"Is that what you want to say after your stupid act?" Zefer asked.

Augustus shrugged.

"What should we do more? Any manifestation to bring back last night? And summoning all those souls back to earth? Well, that wouldn't be a great idea uncle Zefer." he swung a little shifting his gaze to Hector, "Because once Augustus is gone, you will have to show some hospitality to the ripper who will not stop until I rip out that heart" he smirked at Hector and shifted his gaze to Bianca.

"Am I right honey?" Augustus winked at Hector's wife, Bianca who practically shivered pale under his flickering fiery gaze.

Augustus got up from the chair, ready to leave for the one human being who was cursing at him and planning to discard him from the friend's group of three.

"Where are you going? Our discussion isn't over yet!" Uncle Zefer talked.

Enzo huffed glancing at Augustus, "Of course to meet that human friend! Don't you know? "Of course his most of the time is spent with that tiny negligible human and that bone licking dog-"

Augustus snapped his hooded eyes at Enzo who blurted against his friends. He rested his hands on the table and threw a dark menacing gaze at him.

"Say it one more time Enzo and you won't find tongue in your mouth"

Enzo gulped.

"Careful Enzo, he has a soft corner for humans that he is weak to even kill them but for us!" Hector wanted to talk since Augustus threatened his wife.

"Hey come on, just because he is friends with one human doesn't mean he can't kill others. He has his own set up of rules just let him live as that" Elena came to his rescue again.

"I wonder why we have this traitor in our family!" Zefer said it out in front of everyone.

"As if your words are going to hurt me!" the bloodnut huffed and moved to go when Zefer stopped him.

"It's our duty to be mixed with the humans so they won't be afraid of us anymore but that doesn't mean to surpass our boundaries with them. Keep this in your mind"

Augustus let out a cold sigh. He has always heard a similar kind of lecture again and again. "Now if you mind to your own stuff, I have some work to finish"

Throwing a final glance at uncle Zefer he walked ahead and halted when a news anchor's words fell on his ears.

Augustus went into deep thinking after watching the news. He glanced at uncle Zefer and received a knowing serious look from him.

He knows what to do next!

His raven hair replaced the scarlet head as he walked out of the meeting hall and got into his car driving towards the hospital.
