After returning with Kai to the Lockwoods, Ivan checked on Ryan and then started getting ready to attend Augustus's party. He asked for Kai's choices but the former didn't look much involved in it. He hummed at every attire Ivan chose to wear. Ivan noticed his bulky Alpha silent and sighed. He went near Kai and hugged him from behind.

"It's Augustus's birthday. I hope you aren't sad about my decision."

Without turning at him, he hummed. Ivan felt the need to talk to him more.

"Only for a day, I don't want him to be sad. He has done so many things for me before. When I lost my house, he gave me shelter to live in. If I abandon him on his special day then it will make him upset"

Kai hummed again. Ivan couldn't take his hums and sighs. He came in front of him, cupping his big face in his small palms.
